You are well on your way to rebuilding that collection. You really hit the jackpot finding the nursery selling all those carnivorous plants. Happy to see you bouncing back so quickly into the hobby.

What an absolute steal! The last time i saw a Carnivorous plant for sale in a shop it was a $35 half dead 70cm Sarracenia.

Congratulations on your KZbin channel. I'm learning a lot by watching your videos. I'm Italian (I apologize for my poor English) and I live in Sicily. Where I live, temperatures can reach around 95 degrees Fahrenheit in the months of June, July, and August. On these hot days, can I leave the Venus Flytraps in direct sunlight or should I provide them with shade?
@TheFlytrapGarden Жыл бұрын
They can be left outside in 40 Celsius fine, but if it is extremely hot and maybe very dry, it is best to give them some shade from the hot afternoon sunlight. But it isn’t a big problem for Venus flytraps, I have grown them in 45 Celsius and more and they did perfectly fine. Just make sure that they have ALOT of water on those days

Ive seen the olace when went with fdiend collect a car near Swaffham/Kings Lynn but no idea they had all that otherwise woukd have had to stop. So if your plant shopping does that mean your EU tour is finished and now settling down again then?

We will be visiting other European countries but after our horrible experience in portugal we don’t even want to think about starting in a different country, so for now we will be staying in England 😊

I could be wrong but American plants in America tend be expensive but here in UK seem cheaper
@TheFlytrapGarden Жыл бұрын
Yes it’s true, and Australian plants in Australia are so hard to find and extremely expensive compared to anywhere else
@ColumboDC Жыл бұрын
@@TheFlytrapGarden I wonder why?
@TheFlytrapGarden Жыл бұрын
@@ColumboDC I honestly don’t know. Maybe because the market is smaller so less people collect and sell them in Aus, It’s strange
@ColumboDC Жыл бұрын
You may be right with the small market idea. I had someone from s korea trying to buy a sarracenia from me. I couldn't understand why not more local. But its still strange that US has nurseries like california carnivores and yet their indigenous plants are way more expensive than in uk where they are not indigenous and they are cheap to buy. I'm just curious but I love that they are cheap haha
@TheFlytrapGarden Жыл бұрын
@@ColumboDC yes I’ve noticed that too! I think the reason why it’s cheaper in the UK (and Europe) is because America has a bigger market, or more consumeristic, or higher costs or a combination of one or all of these…. Not sure what the answer is yet lol
@ScooterMcGraw Жыл бұрын
So where was this? A googling says there are a few of that name in the UK. Tom has a southern accent, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's in the south of England.
