I think that this is a really interesting idea, and I'll probably use some VIP points to get a discount on it and buy it. However, your idea of the Ninjago City style Gotham City is one of the best ideas I've heard in a while, and now I'm sad that they aren't doing that. They've made, what, 3 Ninjago City sets? Imagining 3 modular Gotham City sets in that style, based on Batman TAS with 10+ figs each is enough to bring a tear to a grown man's eye. I'd trade this art set for that reality in a second.

I love this set, having grown up with both Batman the Animated Series and Lego, this has been a long time coming. I hope it means that we'll see more Animated Series sets in the future. I have two complaints, my first being the price. It seems overpriced to me, so I'll be picking it up on a sale only. I realize that per piece, it is much cheaper than the standard Lego price, but most of those pieces are 1x1 or 1x2. It's not horrible, but still more than I think it should be. My second complaint is that it looks like all the detail is in stickers, and for the price, I would have liked to see those stickers be printed pieces for longevity.

No. Your just wrong. This is great. LEGO wouldn't make a bunch of £300 buildings from the series because they aren't recognisable and probably won't sell. There is a reason batman doesn't get as many sets as star wars each year, it doesn't sell. Yes, Wayne tower would be good. But then it's also really plain, and what would be inside it, just a desk and a conference room 😂. Na this was the way to go. Perfect set for fans

I feel like this review is mad at a set for not being something it isn't. It's an art set you're meant to display like a painting, not a mini figure scale modular. I'd love a cool Gotham City environment set though. LEGO tends to tie these kind of huge modular sets into a movie though. Maybe for The Batman 2?

I think there’s room for both things like this and minifig scale big sets. I strongly believe next year we’ll get a modular daily planet with the release of the new Superman film. But overall I would agree that you aren’t alone in feeling that the DC/batman brand has been subject to “experimental” sets I like them and hope they continue personally. But as I said I think there room for both and I see the appeal… this and the Batcave are far better than Thor’s hammer, caps shield, black panther, or the hulkbuster in my opinion.

I highly doubt we get a big set like that for Superman next year, we might not even get sets from that movie. I hope we do but LEGO seems to have a rocky relationship with DC right now. I agree there are spaces for both, but we don't have both, we're just getting the weird stuff. The Marvel experiments are okay because we also get Avengers Tower, Daily Bugle, etc. We need stuff like that from DC to justify these strange builds.

Totally agree. Looks cool but not worth 300$ for its VERY limited functionality. And when you open the “secret areas” it really just looks like something I would’ve built with spare Lego pieces. Like “oh poison ivy and Harley are here so we’re going to leave a diamond and a flower”. A cool looking set but definitely not worth 300$ unless you are a diehard Lego fanatic.

The only thing I dislike is the price. I don't own any of the artwork Lego sets, but can see myself getting this one. I just like it - I don't know if I can articulate why. I grew up watching Justice League and JL Unlimited, so it isn't sheer nostalgia for The Animated Series. I may wait for double VIP points though, to lessen the sting of the cost.

A Gotham city playset is never going to be a thing, there just isn't enough recognizable buildings, and as an adult do you really need play features over displayability? I'd definitely would have purchased them, especially if it could go along with the rumoured Batmobile. Honestly I just really disagree about the Joker looking good. Idk why everyone seems to love it I think he’s a lazy figure. The torso looks great but I think no printing on the legs like everyone else sucks. And I’m confused by what look they tried to give his face. The mouth is fine but the eyes just look how he did in the new Batman adventures seasons and not how he did in the original seasons. It’s clear they were trying to do the original season cause take a look at Catwoman and Batman. and then that hair just doesn’t look like it’s from any joker design from the DCAU which BTAS is a part of. Like would it have been that bad to get a new mold? Lego pumps them out everywhere else. So I think giving his black shoes with the white socks would have looked good and then can we get any new hair piece besides his generic dc super heros one. I’m tired of it. I liked it for Tim burton sets but not for BTAS. They may as well give it to health ledger too at this point. With that Harley Quinn looks great but her face just seems weird and off to me like I think the original figure from 2006 has a much better and accurate look to her in the show then this one does. And I hate it because this is suppose to be the BTAS set. So yeah nah joker and Harley stupid Batman and Catwoman okay

I own EVERYTHING LEGO Batman, and I don't like this set. I am obsessed with collecting Jokers and I hate the way this one looks. His eyes are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO wrong. Just look at ANY picture of the Joker from this show. His eyes are always yellow, just like his teeth. LEGO designers seem to be getting very lazy these days.
