that last scene was wild. after all these years of her telling him exactly how she feels about everything , he just doesn't get it. I'm glad they decided to call it. Olivia can live her dreams and see the world and Ethan can go back to Cairo and find a nice tradwife to cook for him. hopefully Kim will be too busy with her new life of dating and ignoring her children to meddle this time.

The thing is his communication will still suck and that relationship will fail also. He doesn’t really need a wife to hold him back from his solitary life. He can work on his cars and motorcycles to his content.

I really like your reviews and commentary on Plathville. I hope TLC does an update on where they all ended up. Actually, I’m only interested in Olivia’s growth and really hope she goes to college to get the true experience of people her age. The Plath’s will never change their dysfunctional family life.

Neither one of the parents are raising the young girls I think the oldest girl that is living at home is raising the three youngest girls . Barry takes off work and leaves the three youngest girls at home with 19 year old Sister she is raising those kids .

Would Ethan really be raising his kids? I think not.

If Ethan had children, I think he would work hard to raise them! I have a hard time understanding his wife, though! I’ve never seen her act happy and satisfied regardless of what her husband did to please her, yet I think he has tried harder to make her happy than she has for him!

Moriah and Ethan are both weirder than a tick. Then again all the Plath's are STRANGE.😮

Olivia was smart not to bring children in that relationship: she is still learning and growing. I hope, she gets to live her dream to go to college. Good luck to her. Edit: If my mom, who bullied me into purity culture, did a 180, divorced my dad and started to date around without ANY acknowledging how abusive she was in forcing her "xtian" beliefs on me, I would be MAD!

I read a quote from Kim about how she was scared navigating life after the split because she had just been a parent throughout their marriage and never had to worry about the rest of the things like paying bills, finances, etc. - basically having very little life skills outside of being a tradwife. Not that being a mother isn’t a job in its own right, I’m a SAHM, but I’m also single and had a very long career in a field I’m passionate about and I’ve always been independent. This is why I feel like these women really need to think about their lives of their marriages fail. No one wants to think about that and wants to think their marriage will be forever, but sometimes things happen you don’t see coming and turns your life upside down. I really feel like they get out into these situations where they probably stay in marriages longer than they would if they knew they could navigate life just fine without a man. I’m not saying all women need to so it all, but I think everyone needs a safety net or a plan if things go sideways and not be so dependent on traditional gender roles to the point of being clueless about the real world. I also can imagine dating so soon after being married that long. I was married for 5 years and when I got divorced, I didn’t date for about 3 years because I had to find my footing and find out who I was again on my own. I think jumping into a relationship right away isn’t fair to the other person because there’s no way someone processes the end of a marriage that fast. For me it was like grieving a death and coming to terms with my life not going the way I thought it was going to, that can be difficult. Sometimes marriages end long before they’re actually over, but divorce itself is very final and the day ours was done was very emotional. I almost feel like that part with Kim dating was 100% for the show.

I think Moriah is a lot like her mother. Thankfully she’s also part of her dad and community of siblings so it dilutes the mom’s characteristics.

Good luck to them! Cant they see how set in his ways, uncaring and disrespectful he can be? And that's not even covering his political/social values! That man traveled through several countries, watched his brother and sister get out of the extreme fundie mold, their parents set for them and he didnt grow/change?! That's pretty scary.

as someone who has always been interested in the plathverse, but found the show unbearably cringe i really appreciate these videos LOL- shoutout to kyra sivertson for being the messiest human alive and to the subreddit for helping me find your channel! all of your videos are so entertaining and interesting, and i love all of your commentary as someone who also grew up in religious spaces and has found a new path outside of that

The Plath kids are so SELFISH & ONLY care about themselves & don't care about their mom's happiness though she's given EVERYTHING to them. & now the way the kids are all ganging up - I'm OVER this show. It's BORING!!!!

That gag gift scene didn't seem very funny to me... and I have a dirty sense of humor. I could see gifting something like that to a close friend as a prank, but to gift a guy you don't really know a toy to put up his bum felt like it could have possibly been humiliating for him. If the roles were reversed the guy would come off as a total gross jerk. Just saying! Love Olivia, not her most thoughtful moment.

Idk how these kids are all so beautiful (not Ethan) when the parents are so average looking! Kim maybe was beautiful when she was young though I could see it.

Your defense of Olivia gifting the sex toy was disgusting and pathetic. CJ was on camera when given this completely inappropriate gift, and he obviously didn’t say what he really felt about it. Lydia Grace and CJ broke up some time ago as well. It’s a matter of principle to not do such a thing; Ethan was totally right to criticize her for it. Olivia fans never fail to disturb me.
