This is incredible. The little details of yours are so incredible, any grappler who doesn’t watch your stuff is going to miss so much wisdom.

do you have any advice on how to escape from modified scarf hold? especially if the top guy is heavy and strong.
@kerpal321 Жыл бұрын
i think you want that frame on the hip to be a little higher like mid forearm on the hip, if you are using your wrist on his hip and he switches his hips and drops them on your arm he can compress it and injure it

Every situation is a little different. It’s not a cut and dry thing at all. Your point is correct that you should be careful when you push with your hand. At no point was I in danger of hurting my wrist/hand.

For what it's worth, I've never been taught this detail. I probably do the exact opposite, i.e. move my hand to their shoulder and use that to pivot my forearm into their neck.

Sir When I tried this, almost everyone I rolled with switched to 100kilo(like a Yoga pose Bujangasana) from side control. They got heavier. I couldn't escape.

I will address the issue soon I hope!

Brian what are you doing if the guy is trying to elbow your face from that position. Rather than just hold
@TeachMeGrappling7 ай бұрын
You would simply frame and block the strikes and escape back to guard and go from there. People hold because striking leads to an escape for the bottom man. There is always more but I can only explain so much in writing.

@@TeachMeGrappling Thanks for the detailed reply really appreciate it. I got an idea what to do, I just wanted to know how you approach that situation. My only interest is in self defense.

I’m starting to enjoy being in the bottom of side control. There’s a lot of options being there to stay in control from the bottom
