These are really cool details. Karl Parisyan taught something similar to the ghost escape in one of his old instructionals way back when, I used it for a while, but then started getting caught with those same counters you showed at the beginning. So I put it on the back burner and rarely attempted it for the longest time. Time to iron out some details. Thanks again!

Oh my gosh, the physics make SO MUCH SENSE. A pendulum gaining momentum with each push so eventually "something" happens. I love it.

I'm a new bjj student as of jan 2023. I just tried this combination out with the ghost to the darce choke / phantom to back control. I submitted 3 people in my last practice and one of those three submitted twice. Two of them were blue belts. Thanks so much for your videos! They are so full packed of all the great stuff and i feel very benefitted by what is obviously your expertise! Going to be starting this drill with a buddy (white belt but super advanced and up for his blue belt test soon) at my academy so i can master this move and excel at being uncontrollable! Thanks so much TMG!

It's so interesting seeing this being developed by you over the years. There was that other guy that did this, he loved doing the Darce..was his name Donny Blue I think. Anyway its so cool seeing this history happen before my eyes over the years. And you have taken it to the next level for a while. Thank you man

Thanks coach Brian, I’m normally successful with ghost escape, just not the darce lol. Especially if they switch to kasa gatame or bulldog hold (that playground headlock)
Hey guys I’m struggling to do this in the gi… it works brilliantly no gi. But in the gi they usually have a lapel grip which is pulled under my back. Or a collar grip, any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Does this work with a gi? Or is there too much friction?
@TeachMeGrappling Жыл бұрын
Yes it can! Movement is the key.

When you are doing the phantom and your back is on the mat parallel to the other guy, is there a danger of the other guy high stepping his inside leg and mounting you?
@TeachMeGrappling3 жыл бұрын
Yes most definitely it’s a concern! You need to be aware of a possible mount coming and pull the arm down so it is difficult for your opponent to shift his weight and lift his leg. Somtimes I will abandon the phantom and opt for a more simple guard replacement if I feel the mount is coming. 🤙
