I found an amazing way to keep those beautiful little barn swallows from getting into my garage. I went to Walmart this morning and bought 2 rolls of screen and got a 8' 1x1 board, stapled the correct length to it and screwed it up across the door. They really don't like the screening. Problem solved.

They poop excessively in my backyard where I let my dog out. Dogs like bird poop (ick) but it can make them very sick.

Our apple trees are dying of the pigeons and parrot poops and it attracts rats on top of that. Also they mocked off most of the fruits. Trrrible.

Most native birds are not. They are beautiful to have around. Robins and bluebirds are a welcome addition to most yards, I would think. But not many people want invasive, messy species like starlings, house sparrows and pidgeons around if they can avoid it. I have a yard full of bird baths, feeders and nesting boxes! The more natives the merrier! They bring life to the garden. Don't know how much you miss them until they are gone over winter!
