Hello again everyone! In this video, I discuss how doing a color and composition study of your concept before the final artwork will make you a more successful artist. By doing a rough draft or study, you can figure out the known obstacles while encountering the unknown obstacles during the creation process. Thus, you can make your adjustments prior to the final artwork. Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Dude I’m glad you got into KZbin. You’re gonna blow up in no time. Also it’s cool to hear your teaching again. I missed that combination of solid art instruction, inspiring art philosophizing, and slightly unhinged nervous tension that made your class so much fun.

Really enjoying your channel! Do you have any recommendations on how to make a saturated colors in oil paint? My paintings are always ending up looking muddy :/
@michaeljohnnolan
@michaeljohnnolan Жыл бұрын
Excellent! I am so glad. Thank you! Great question... usually it is because you are mixing too much white into your paints or you might be over blending your strokes of color once you have them on the canvas. Once your apply the color to the canvas, back up a few feet and see how the stroke optically blends before you over blend it away. I have done both many times and usually at the same time. Also, after the fact, you can use an artist glazing medium like WN Liquin to add a transparent glaze of your saturated color back onto the dried muted surface. Thanks for watching!
