OK LET'S SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT (mind you I'm a HUGE Flex fan and have been using their tools for over 12 years now) - In no way did Flex invent that cutting wheel or the flap disc. I've been selling the German made Rhodius "vision" disc and their extra thin discs for over 8 years now. Excellent stuff but not new and not Flex's doing. And there is a trade-off that went unmentioned about having a disc that thin and it's that you're going to wear out the usable disc that much faster and so end up buying that many more $4+ discs. So even if your $200 tool lasts longer you'd probably be able to buy a new one with the money you spend tearing through discs. That being said I and many others still prefer the thinnest disc we can get our hands on because the benefits do outweigh the buying of more discs IMHO. And I've been working with this kind of stuff and selling it professionally for a long time now and I can tell you HE'S FLAT OUT WRONG about grinding and polishing. Polishing should be done around 1500 - 3500 rpm and abrading with coated abrasives (think sandpaper) should be done at a significantly higher speed. I'm not sure if he misspoke or he's just never actually done much of this in his life. All the same I pledge allegiance to Flex and to the rest of the Very Cool Gang. Keep up the good work and always fight for the facts!

Being able to see through the flap wheel does seem super useful! I only wonder if the leading flaps will wear down a lot faster.

I like a thinner disc for the precision! Sounds good to me as long as it lasts reasonably well. Project Farm will have to test them. ;)
@daveheiskala70074 ай бұрын
I agree, I think you will use more of these thinner wheels.
@802Garage4 ай бұрын
@@daveheiskala7007 Well, if you think about it, a wider wheel is just cutting more material with the wider surface, meaning the surface contact per wheel area is the same. It will also create more heat. These may actually last the same amount or longer if the material composition is correct. I think the main reason they are usually thicker is to add strength and make them easier to manufacture. I'd def be interested in some testing.

I have to say that Flex is the real deal. They’ve got some great power tools and their Flex Stack Pack blows away the Packout storage system, which up till now was considered the Cadillac of the mobile storage systems…. Go Flex 💪!!!!

To be fair they need to apply equal pressure to both discs. It sounded like the motor was under more load when he demonstrated the razor slice, indicating more downforce being applied. Possibly trying to favor the razor slice by making it look better than it really is?

sam is such a nice man, he is lovely. thing is: not all reps these days gets paid for what they should given how good person he is. what i am suggesting vince is to see if you can figure out how to give him a free eye lasic, for his healthcare. it would then enably him to do better demos with tools and equipment and do more (and safely) on the job site, in those environment. love you lots vince! an all you other guys at vcg (whom doesnt also need the same lasic)

I LOVE Flex tools, but they need to run some dang promotions or sales or SOMETHING! Are they even going to do anything for Fathers Day? 🤔 I would love to invest in Stack pack storage, to store all these Flex 24v tools that I have now.

How about durability, will it fly apart when cutting or break easily while in storage because all my current thin cut off wheels are very fragile

The problem with cordless tools, as a friend discovered his ryobi trimmer the battery failed and one won’t charge, took to Home Depot the cost of two batteries was 200 bucks, he could get two batteries and the tool for 249.99 , the tool becomes disposable along with batteries, where is the green other than the corporate colour of their tool line.

Nah. Milwaukee hand cart and a double drawer turned into single drawer is better for big tools. Add the crate out front or whatever.

We all love? Excuse me, Sam, but assuming we all love it is presumptuous. As I do not like the Flex Snack Packs for 2 reasons. Number 1, side laches, I complain about them all the time, so I feel I don't need to explain that one. And number 2, Flex Snack Pack does not make box's for my pudding cups and that is a huge missed opportunity.
