The fact that even the most suspicious evidence against the Open Hand Foundation that is still unconfirmed suspicion is being treated as 100% proof really bothers me. I respect what Karl does, but I think he's being to trigger happy with calling guilt on Jirard and his family. I won't deny that this is bad and is definitely proof of something happening behind closed doors, but I don't see use in treating Jirard as guilty until we hear a response from Jirard or a true final verdict on the situation.

The reason he hasn't said anything is because any lawyer worth their salt will tell you to sit down and keep your god damn mouth shut until everything is settled legally. This is something a lot of internet influencers don't seem to understand. Personally, I don't believe Jirard is being malicious, just very negligent. The Open Hand Foundation is a Private Foundation. It's not a charity, like in the UK or Canada. The clue is in the name. It's a private foundation and can hold the money collected for as long as the directors wish, provided that whatever they do donate goes to a charity that is described in the founding document. Even if that's at the end, 100 years from now, when they donate the money to a charity that is described in its foundation document. They file a Form 990-PF (again, another clue, PF = Private Foundation) each year and they describe how the money is used. Admin costs are perfectly legitimate. In this video I lost count how many times Pyro called it a charity, when it's not a charity. It's a private foundation.
