It's actually oil tofu which is believed to be fox spirit's favourite food. Yae tricked Itto into a Fox Ramen match inwhich oil tofu is one of the important delights. And since oil tofu is still tofu, it is made of beans. And in JP folk tales, the monster race "Oni", which is Itto's race, is very very allergic to and afraid of beans. It's a small story hidden in game, you just need some JP folk tale knowledge to fully understand it.
