I recently saw a video where a gal attempted to burn/melt snow and it did not burn... We tried it today and here are the results!
It doesn’t melt when we held the small snowball or when we placed a direct flame 🔥

For those of you that would rather criticize and condemn instead of teach, you are sad people. Bring others up, not down. There is a difference between ignorance and stupidity. In my experience, people who do this have low self esteem and must do this to try to make them feel better about themselves. Misery loves company. Sublimation, when it’s that compact, instead of melting, it turns directly into a gas, the black is from the impurities in the fuel.

Actually no it it's not from the lighter because alaska snow does not turn black kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3OQeXV5ZdN6b5I Also she did it with a lighter as well. I put that texas snow in the microwave and it turned black too so it's definitely not from the lighter. Snow is nothing but frozen water so that's just ignorant to think water would turn black frozen or not smh. Some try to say it's from the lighter and some try to say it's from pollution but I don't think neither of them know what their talking about.

Incorrect about the impurities of the fuel. I did the same with matches, and did far more damage and more smoke. and creeated a soot. NOTE: Black smoke does not come from matches. I used to hold a snowball in one hand when I was a kid in the 1970's and it would melt quickly simply from the heat of my hand. THIS IS WHY IT WON'T MELT: Silver Iodide is used to generate large rain and snow storms. The butane or lighter fluid in the lighter (or solid fuel on the end of a match) gives off soot that collects on the snowball and creates the black film on the surface. Google is literally right at your hands....use it

@@kade4247 It doesn't matter if it is from a butane lighter or from a candle!!! it's called "sublimation" in basics the fire is so hot it turns the solid snow ice to vapor. If a house catches fire and it's snow outside, you will see the same thing. This is 6th-grade level stuff and people just refuse to google or fact check........we are in trouble

I’m pretty sure it’s not sublimation but rather because the water goes into the snow instead of dripping out, hence why it recedes.
