I love this version but if you watch the version in the live shows it is usually Roger Taylor singing and there is a video playing in background of the group with clips throughout all their years together. I think it was Freddie's last song with the group and I think it was about THE GROUP! They were bandmates, friends and most of all family. God Bless you for honoring them!

Actually written by Roger (the dude on the drums) regarding his kids, but with Freddie's situation took on a whole new meaning. This was the last video in which Freddie physically participated. Such a sad one, but oh so beautiful 😢 Oh, and Freddie's "I still love you" at the end was his goodbye to the fans.

Freddie was in so much pain here. Moving hurt, the clothes moving against his skin hurt. He was so brave right to the end and he was determined to give his all. The saddest songs include this, The Show Must Go On, Brian wrote on his attitude to coming to the end. A Winter's Tale, one of his last he wrote and recorded the vocals for months before his passing. I'm Going Slightly Mad, written about the effects the medication was having on him. Mother Love, his last vocals on a song Brian had to finish as he passed before he could record the final part. This song is to us all in general, looking back on life and regretting nothing. His final goodbye.

That was his goodbye to his fans That was his last appearance and his last ever words in front of the camera. At this time Freddy barely could stand. It was black and white to hide how frail and sick Freddie really looked. He was caked in makeup and found it hard to stand for too long. The video was shot May 30, 1991, and he died on Nov 24, 1991, so this was just months before his death. That last part where Freddie looks down and that coy smile, its like he's holding back his tears, you can see it on his face. With that smile is telling us good bye. That was his last appearance and his last ever words in front of the camera. ''I still love you''

Hon, this is sadder than you imagined. Freddie was near death here..a few more months. This is his last video, and he was very weak and in pain. It's his goodbye song to everyone he knew AND his fans . Kind of early for this one,now you need to do early Queen to remember happy times. Keep yourself alive...at the Rainbow is a good one. Roger the drummer actually wrote this song ,,but it takes on a different feeling when you know the facts.

Oh, if you want to bawl, listen to "Mother Love." The last song Freddie recorded, and he was so ill that he had to stop after verse 2. He planned to finish recording later but never did. After his death, Brian finished it, singing the last verse himself. That must have been SO hard; you can actually hear the pain in his voice. They all really loved Freddie and his passing devastated them.

This just showed, not only what a superb performer he was, but a loving person he was as well. I love how Freddie just wore his heart on his sleeves and (in this case) his waistcoat. The last whisper of "I still love you" to his family, friends and fans is still an emotional bullseye! Though Freddie never had children of his own, he loved cats and was a truly devoted cat daddy. The pictures on his vest are portraits of his beloved fur babies. Guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon and Roger Taylor (who is playing the conga drums fyi) are doing all they can to keep a stiff upper lip. I can't imagine how much it must have ate at them inside to watch their friend and brother waste away. Even now their spiritual bond with Freddie is so strong not even death could break it. God bless Queen! Definitely check out songs like My fairy king, stone cold crazy live at the rainbow, march of the black queen, its late, save me live at Montreal 1981, etc.

If you go back, or watch the documentary, and look carefully at his vest you'll discover portraits of some of his beloved cats are hand painted on it. This band is making universal music and lyrics for YOU to discover something about yourself. None of us will ever know what these songs mean to them. Don't let it confuse you, just breathe it in & listen again until you discover something in your own heart. Thanks for your reaction!

The song was written by Roger Taylor (the drummer) and it's simply about a person / any person who reflects on his life and how it's quickly going by. This was written during the time when Freddie's life was inevitably coming to an end - in fact, he passed away half a year later. That's his last video. Because of all that, the song automatically became Freddie's 'farewell' song. He says goodbye to everybody.

Thank you for reacting to this video! This was recorded in May of 1991, Freddie's last video. It was released on Freddie's 45th birthday, September 5th. Freddie passed away on Nov. 24th. As has been stated by others, the song was written by Roger, but what a fitting swan song for the greatest. It was a way for Freddie to say goodbye to his fans. That last look into the camera and Freddie saying, "I still love you." If you want to delve a little deeper, there is a documentary on the making of Those Were the Days of Our Lives. I highly recommend it. We will never see or hear the likes of Freddie again in our lifetime. To be honest, we didn't deserve him. As much as I love Freddie and Queen, each day, my appreciate just grows. RIP Freddie. Thank you for sharing your gift with us and leaving a legacy that almost 33 years after you left us, you are still loved, appreciated and gaining new fans in generations that came after you.

I haven’t been able to listen to queen since November 1991. (Without physical pain and crushing grief) I felt like my world fell apart when he died. He was Like a member of the family whom I adored. Such was the love he inspired in his fans. However watching you discover and experience them has made me smile. This one s tough though... Freddie was singing to us, it was directed to us,saying goodbye as he knew these were the last words he would sing to the world. Thus the look to camera and the quiet “I love you” and smile at the very end.... heartbreaking all over again but I wouldn’t have missed a moment .

Woah!! Way too early for you to be on this one yet. But it’s a wonderful song and I like the fact it explores both those days and THESE days .. absolutely spot on with your thoughts 👍 as someone else observed it was Roger that wrote this so not Freddie’s words. The black and white was to try and minimise how ill Freddie really was 😢.

Stop trying to figure out who he was singing to/about and realize that EVERY song was for the fans of Queen. The "I still love you" at the end was FOR the FANS. He was saying goodbye and letting them know that he still loved and appreciated them for loving him. One of the things that made Queen so great is that each one of their songs touched people. There is something in each of them that we relate to. Not every band can do that but that's what Queen were able to do. That's why the music of Queen touched and still touches so many people. And we can't help but listen to the words and not just watch the show. This song was beautiful and haunting just listening to it but when you watch this video and see Freddie and know that he's dying there are no words. And then we get to Dr. Brian May's guitar solo and it's like a tribute to Freddie sending him off into eternity...brings tears every time. He's singing about ALL of the days of their lives. That includes childhood and adulthood, we don't stop living when we become adults. :) If you see this, do a reaction to "No One But You". It was recorded after Freddie's death and is an absolutely beautiful tribute to Freddie. It was also John Deacon's last song with Queen. Good reaction.

This was his last video, I cry the whole time watching it. So hard to think that this is last video. RIP Freddie, you bring joy to my heart with every song I hear and everyone else has the same experience. Freddie was talking to all of us, everyone takes away from it their own experience. The music of Queen is always makes your mind work. Great reaction! There is a great comment below that talks about what Roger was writing about, but when Freddie sang it the whole meaning of the song changed, the beautiful lyrics about Rogers children fit Freddie's situation so well. When I listen I see my children growing up and I also feel Freddies life in it. Thank you Roger for giving us the music of our lives. ♥

The whole song is about the consistency and power of love. Yes, as we get older and life hits hard, sometimes we only wish we could be like kids again; no worries, no responsibilities, just being glad, happy and content most of the time. Yes, we as adults come to realise that life isn't full of sunshine and rainbows and that most of the good things we thought would last don't and many many bad things to endure. But despite all of these changes and realisation, one thing in life remains untouched, unchanged.. and that is the LOVE we have for each other. I believe this is what the song is trying to tell us.

Because he was ill, the band did not tour after '86. He still made music but became a recluse as he became more and more ill. He decided near the end to face his fans in this song and say good bye to them. He was a kind person to the end and sacrificed how looked (horrible) to say a final goodbyel In this video he could barely stand. Most of one foot was gone but he never complained according to people close to him, Mary Austin and jim Hutton

There's his fans, there's his longtime lover, and there's Mary Austin- who he'd actually dated up until he realized he was gay, but still loved her deeply until the day he died. Well, 7 months later, I see this post. I have really gotten into Queen and Freddy since the Pandemic started. I loved their music as a teenager but didn't pay attention to who they were. I have now and just like you, WOW! Freddy was a truly gifted man with talent rarely seen in our world. I am a huge Elvis fan and up until now, no one could equal Elvis. Well....I think Elvis and Freddie were on parr with charisma and talent. They both went way too young. I think Freddie is saying he still loves Mary. He met Mary when he was very young, before he was famous. So it makes sense to me he is talking to her. I can totally relate to this song. Totally. In addition, I think I figured out what his meaning is behind Bohemian Rapsody.

Technically, Roger Taylor (the drummer) wrote this song about his kids. Freddie gave this song a new meaning given this was his last video. He did die 2 months after this video was made. The remaining band members, Roger, Brian and John, wrote one last song about Freddie and made a video for it. I think it's called The Good Die Young (not the Billy Joel song), or that's in the title if you want to check it out. Yes, it is often said Freddie died of AIDS, but that wasn't his initial diagnosis. He actually caught pneumonia and AIDS prevented his body from fighting off the virus. The last song that has Freddie's voice on it is called Mother Love. He came to the studio just to put his vocals on track. He was too ill to go on so he went home. Sadly, he never returned to finish it so Brian finished out the song. You can find that song on their album Made In Heaven. Freddie knew he was dying and begged Brian and Roger to just write words for him to sing so they did. The didn't put the music to it until after he died. Freddie would just record his vocals onto a track and then the remaining band members wrote the music for it. That's what Freddie wanted...just to keep making music until he died; and he did. You need to look up documentaries on Freddie and Queen on KZbin. I suggest "Freddie's Story" and "The Show Must Go On" documentaries. Another interesting video you may want to check out is one where Brian May breaks down the song Bohemian Rhapsody step by step; from instruments to how they did all the overdubs with their voices. It's very cool to hear the different parts separate from the rest of the song. Trust me, you'll never listen to that song the same way again! One last interesting fact-Queen + Adam Lambert recently released their first album (under their band name like that) called Live Around The World. One day after its release, the album was #1!

Thanks for your review. I think he means “I still love you” in the sense of anyone - family, friends and fans - like nothing’s changed.

You sound like a good person. Your parents must be proud of you. He also may be talking to us. He loved his audience. He loved making his people happy.

I love your reactions to Queen, keep them coming! I'm glad you are delving into the history of Queen and what they were like off-camera/behind the scenes. I would like to suggest 2 documentaries: Freddie Mercury: The Untold Story and These Are The Days of Our Lives.

His family. His friends, his cats and even his critics. Freddie was a true legend both as a musician but also as a human being. Great to see your vlog.

One of the finest songs Queen ever did. The guitar solo is one of Brian's sweetest sounding guitar work and totally fits the song!

He is saying that he still loves his fans. It's his way of saying goodbye to us and when he looks straight towards the camera, you believe that he is looking directly into your eyes, he made this song very personal to everyone. I still shed tears for Freddie, even now.

I love this song so much but it's so hard to watch the video. Seeing Freddie so obviously withering away from his disease. He must have been in a lot of pain yet he's working so hard till the very end to give the best performance he could. He's such an inspiration.

Freddie says I STILL LOVE YOU to his fans, this is a good-bye song to his audience, to the world, to all his family and friends. He also says he still loves life. It's not a love song. It's a good-bye song. Second last he did months before leaving this world. Thank you for your reaction, your comments... We grew up with Queen music, it's in our DNA. We also love hip hop and all kinds of music incl. Opera. If you feel the music ( as you obviously do) limiting yourself to one genre is missing out on so much good music out there so thank you for including Queen and other music. So glad new generations are rediscovering these timeless songs... Great work! You have a gift of connecting to people and a beautiful soul.

The days of your youth hold the core energy of your happiness and wonderful creation and although that frenetic energy dissipates as you grow older you still find that the passion of love does not change and is still with you in your later years.

This was the last video he did before his death. I still love you was him saying goodbye to his fans. the wink was his way of letting us, his fans know he was leaving us forever. We just weren't aware of it at that time.

I was 9 when this song was released, and it instantly became my ALL TIME favourite song, the thing with ANY Queen song, is that they're not want to make sense, but good on you for trying, and the 'I still love you' is saying that he always has and always will love all the people in his life, including us (his fans) in fact the very last 'I still love you' brought tears to my eyes even though I was only 9 years old!
