My dear, if you can walk, you can dance, if you can talk you can sing, ancient African saying, peace and love for you,❤

When I first heard this song, I was going to Basic Training in the Army. I was leaving everything behind and didn't know if I would pass this way again, and then Russell Thompkins tore me up with his amazing falsetto voice. Ya'll I thought I was hearing an angel. The greatest falsetto of all time. Of course I made it back or I wouldn't write this down. I'm an old man, but I still have a young heart. But in the end time has it's way with all of us. God bless ya'll. This is your boy from Tennessee! Peace!

Thank you for reacting to this, Fay! You did your usual marvellos job. I do love The Stylistics. You can scarcely go wrong with them. The man with the high voice is the great Russell Thompkins, Jr. His voice punctuates their signature sound. You are right too, Fay, about people being blessed with singing and speaking voices respectively. I think you have an incredible speaking voice! I've said it before, I think you should audition to do voiceovers. Whenever you speak I don't want to stop listening. Your interpretation was interesting to me. I had never considered it from the family standpoint before (mom, sister, etc.) and I have to say it does fit. But I also like it as a tribute to that special woman that a man loves as a woman, as his soulmate. I see it as an apt tribute to the many wonderful things she is beyond just being a lover. Excellent reaction, Fay! Much love!! Here's to your next one! 🙏🙂💜

Yes, absolutely beautiful. Great request, Russell. I hadn’t reached this Stylistics song yet but I know and love it. It’s different from some in that it has the dual lead vocals - a lovely contrast.

Hi Fay I am glad that you love the Stylelistics. Please see a KZbin video by ms Elizabeth. The Stylelistics are wearing blue tuxedos and the performances is live at the Cunard hotel 1st of August 1975. They are much younger. You will hear one of the best performances of You make me feel brand new by a much younger Russell Tompkins Jr. With the original 5 of them not 4. Tompkins falsetto is off the chain. The power in his voice is amazing for this version. Thanks love your videos.

The Stylistics did a scene in the movie "Hair" where they play conservative army officers evaluating draftees in their skivvies. "Black Boys/White Boys" you would find it very interesting and funny, not to mention a fun song and the Stylistics really make it work!

The kind of song where you could invite a pretty girl to slow dance when you were clubbing. If she agreed, you would both go out on the floor and start dancing, lulled to the music. You one hand in the small of her back, her hands crossed behind your neck, or placed on your shoulders (with some variations depending on the tempèraments and the magic of the moment). Today you don't have that style of music anymore. And if you dare to invite a girl to dance, there is a good chance that you are considered a stalker, a bad guy or something like that. The worst part is that I hardly exaggerate. somewhere I pity the youth of today. Am I too pessimistic? 👫
