Question: Have been wanting to do a catch and cook with the bluegill or crappie but i am unsure if i can eat of of my local lake because i am afraid that there are harmful things in the water or the fish. The lakes i am around are in the the south Jersey area. Great video man, keep up the great work!

It's good for C&R fisherman to know how to ethically do a catch, clean, cook. Even if you're careful you may injure a fish and it would be better to harvest than release it when legally allowed.

I COMPLETELY AGREE ... Leo - please do a stream / creek walk and fish for trout ! Omg it's a Fav of mine... You can turn rocks and educational chat on the larvae & bugs too 👌 Stalking those pools at the end of a 1 or 2 inch creek flow ( THE BEST EVER ) Watch your shadow & crouch sneaking up of those trout 👍

I have never fished Round Valley Res but I’ve had it marked on my map for a while now as a place I’d like to try...never even knew it was a trophy trout lake. Does anyone know if you can dump a boat in there? I know NJ is not the friendliest place for bass boats.
@boogievr63 жыл бұрын
It is restricted to 10hp so anything above that is a no go or use a trolling motor.
@johnschauder3 жыл бұрын
@@boogievr6 thanks. Do you know who runs it...county or state? I went to a county run lake in central/south Jersey and it was electric only (which I am totally cool with...some of my favorite lakes are electric only) but they wanted me to take my propellor off my motor AND remove the gas tank. All that on top of ramp fees?? That was too much for me. New Jersey has some of the most ridiculous boat/motor restrictions. I’m from across the river I’m PA, btw.
@johnschauder3 жыл бұрын
@@boogievr6 even Union lake is limited to pretty small motors
@jerzcnate3 жыл бұрын
@@johnschauder It's a State Park
@boogievr63 жыл бұрын
@@johnschauder It’s run by the state. I see boats on there with larger motors and running around on the 9.9 kicker. As far as I know anything above 9.9 needs to be trimmed out of the water, never seen anyone needing to remove parts of their bigger motor :) electric only lakes I can see why they will ask you to do it. The current ramp situation can be tricky depending on what kind of a boat you have as the lake water levels are way down and you lunch of the beach in a way. No ramp fees if you have your NJ fishing license if not you need a boat ramp license.
