The Australian sun is *NO FREAKING JOKE* . I used to go to uni in Tasmania and even with sunscreen on, I would still get a sunburn!! (SPF 50) I come from a tropical climate country and had never gotten sunburn so often in my life!!!!! 😂 This was several years ago though, I've since gotten more sun smart and educated about how to more fully protect myself from the sun.

The Glow Recipe one has Niacinamide, which whilst a great ingredient can cause irritation I found if there is too much of it in my skincare regime already. So watch out for that one if you already have a niacinamide serum in your routine, and keep an eye out for the inci lists of moisturisers are it’s creeping in a lot of moisturisers too…

Glow Recipe has such strong fragrances. I know Tatcha uses fragrance too in some of their products but I think Glow Recipe goes way overboard with their fragrance. Plus the neck is way more sensitive than the face. I accidentally put perfume on my chest once, got in the sun, then developed hives just on my chest. Never made that mistake again.

The Tatacha sunscreen is not out at Sephora yet in Canada, so I guess we’ll have to wait months to try it. KZbinrs who have tried the Glow Recipe sunscreen say it pills under makeup no matter what products they put on before or after it. Get the Tatcha when it is available.

You could try to research more about Japanese sunscreens! Way more affordable and some don't have white casts.

I found that too with glow recipe spf, but once I started exfoliating before application that the pilling stopped. Pilling occurs because of build of sebum, dead skin cells, and build of oil in the skin. Exfoliating removes those layers. I hope this helps (not a licensed derm or professional, just read a lot about skincare and this was my personal experience, hope it helps!)

Also, incase I had to return it…I opened and have been using my Glow Recipe. No pilling yet. I’ve used different foundations over it and no problems with any of them yet either. Still, I’d like to try Tatcha as well

UV camera aren’t a great indication of SPF coverage but still a fun experience. It’s important to use SPF based on the recommended amount actually necessary to get the SPF coverage labeled

Honestly, just compared 2 SPF’s last week doing the Sephora sale. I purchased the COOLA Dew Good Illuminating and Peter Thomas Roth Max Matte Shine Control. Both were good and worked well under moisturizer and makeup. I decided to stay with the Peter Thomas Roth because I do not want to be when I’m wearing it alone. I have moisturizers that will make me glowy if and when I choose.

The best sunscreen unfortunately are not available in US if you can try European sunscreen they have good ones with the Latest and really high UVA protection ( La Roche Posay, Heliocare, Avène , Isdin )

My skin type is acne prone but dehydrated🤪 I particularly love the Purito daily go to sunscreen…beautiful and I can slather myself with it cause it’s like £10-12 so maybe $18? Not sure

I got the GR sunscreen because Tatcha is so expensive. I did get some pilling in the beginning but I changed my skincare routine. I use the first aid beauty moisturizer a bit generously first and let it dry for several minutes. Then I come back and apply the sunscreen. Several minutes later I use Fenty primer and do my makeup and there is no pilling. I feel like the Fenty primer also helped with the slightly oily feel of the sunscreen

idk if it's just me, but the tatcha side seems like it reduced redness on your skin as well...
