got one sitting in front of me now :) it's a nice bit of kit, feels far more premium than my previous mainstream mech boards. i kinda miss the f and arrow keys sometimes, but i have them mapped to separate layers. It's a bit wasted on me tbh since i can't touch type, but the extra thumb keys and ability to use it as a one handed gamepad make it worthwhile for me. my only complaint is that i'd like to see them offer kailh pro switches, i have the copper speed switches in mine and they're just a little too light and fast for my liking, i plan to pick up some pro purples and swap them out.
@thuunderwizzle4 жыл бұрын
I’ve had mine for a few months! The hot swap stuff is nice but I ended up swapping the entire thing out for choc switches to keep a low profile. Default keymap is a lil wonky but it’s remappable. FalbaTech Redox Gamepad , you're welcome. (SUMMARY: *IN SHORT, FalbaTech Redox Gamepad IS AN ERGONOMICAL GAMING KEYBOARD.* ) I've heavily considered it (there's ErgoDox and Redox variants, I'm going to talk about Redox as that has my interest) for Elite: Dangerous as it's the best 1 handed "Gaming Keyboard" there is. Short review: Logitech G13 , 22 keys, a tiny hat, an LCD screen, not-detachable wrist wrest. Razer Orbweaver: just no. Overpriced, uncomfortable and weird wrist rest situation (also non detachable) Razer Synapse, no thank you, just like the Logitech, they are programmable as in... Yeah, you want to ADD keys to your 104-key keyboard? too bad. (Since the FalbaTech Redox used QMK you can add F13-F24 and other stuff to ACTUALLY add keys) lastly, it has no LCD screen (game stats, news, PC usage was shown on the G13) , it only has 20 finger buttons, Razer claims 30, the Orbweaver has a 2 thumb buttons around the joystick just like Logitech did, that's 22 (the same amount as finger buttons in G13) and then the last 8 are a joystick. Razer is a joke in terms of headsets, Naga, Orbweaver, keyboard quality, the Kailh switch quality problems they had, Synapse, etc. .. A bit longer than expected, sorry. But the very short of it: FalbaTech Redox: Cherry MX switches with a good variety to choose from, it can be programmed with QMK meaning you add buttons to your setup, it has more buttons than the other options, it can be left OR right handed, the only saving grace for Razer is they once made a Left-handed Naga, but they never made a right handed Orbweaver? That would be the best bundle/combo to buy, even with the mentioned issues, *IN SHORT, FalbaTech Redox Gamepad IS AN ERGONOMICAL GAMING KEYBOARD.*

Hes seens and tested his fair share of keyboards and knows what the gaming community wants and needs. Desk space is a huge issue in esports tournaments and ergonamics also play a big role in longevity for a pro players career. He seen all the weird style pros have made so they can make space for the mouse on the desk during league tournaments which is why he made the keyboard the way he did. I run mine fully split as I'm mainly using it for gaming so I have a huge amount of mouse space, then the other half way off to the right-hand side (I changed the cable from the neuron to the right side for extra distance) that I primarily use as a macro pad for hotkeys in OBS. Split keyboards are nothing new... Edit: the title acts like it's a rad new thing. "This keyboard splits in *HALF* !!!" is the title before it is changed (LTT changes after 1 or 2 hours after release) so while James did not explicitly say it, the title acts like and implies it's a crazy new exciting thing.

For people with a regular keyboard that have to hit enter all the time, you can use the Enter key on the numpad easily with your mouse hand without removing your hand from the mouse by just whacking the numpad-Enter with your thumb while it's still on the mouse. I've been doing it for years and it's so much easier than moving your other hand off the home row.

This is probably one of the nicer looking ergo mechanical keyboards...but I always feel they are missing out by not going ortholinear or columnar

0:55 most people only use some keys for gaming, like wasd for driving or something, so you may want to change only one or two of those

Been using this keyboard for about 2 years now. It’s sick. Lubed the Kailh speed silver switches. And I even use the thing for Star Citizen of all games…. Need almost 2 keyboards for that game with all the key assignments you need haha. Plugged it into a Linux machine - no issues, just kept its profile, layers, and RGB just fine. I’ll probably end up using this until it dies.

All I really want is a MS ergonomic keyboard like the 4000 series with mechanical switches for a higher longevity.

I honestly just like the idea of a full keyboard but being able to push aside the right side to game more comfortably.

Been following this keyboard for a while, you can see the progress of them developing it on their youtube channel. They are very open about their process and really want to make an enthusiast keyboard for real users and gamers.
