Fishing with crickets for Bull Bream (Bluegill) and Catfish in the Atchafalaya Basin. Caught everything at around 3-4 foot depth in about 8 feet of water with an ultralight slip cork setup.

Well done brother! Thanks for using my KFRED Float Popper. I do have my reels at the County Station now.

Thank you Kfred! Fun little rod, those catfish put it through the stress test for sure. I’ll be on the lookout for your reels next time.

We get that problem down here too with the weeds, makes it a pain in the butt at some spots. Very good session with some very nice catches. Looks like someone is having another very good dinner :) Great job as always, keep them coming!

No problem, those hooks work great man, quicker to unhook to get back to fishing. I’ll give bream maybe 1 or 2 more trips, and then try some saltwater. Thanks for watching !

you're a brave man to stand up in that yak! I'd be overboard the second I got upright...nice vid, I like the drone view as well. How far north did you travel in the trees from the landing?
@LaYakFishing3 ай бұрын
Love to stand up, it’s gonna get me one day 😂. I went about halfway north towards the bridge. Went again this weekend for afternoon trip and almost all bulls, kept 9 to take home. Was having some technical difficulties with the kayak with little things breaking so called it early.

Great day and video. Awesome you had some of your own space on a Saturday. That vegetation is amazing blocking off Kern’s. Great effort. Awesome cats and that was one huge bull! Well done. Good luck ahead.

I think the weeds possibly turned some people around, was noticeably quiet out there for a Saturday. Glad I decided to launch and not turn around. I hope I can find some more big boys like that next time. Thanks Mark! Good luck to you

Just found your channel and love the Atchaflia basin video. The best thing is that you are Keeping fish to eat! The only other channel I have that does that is RICHARD GENE, THE FISHING MACHINE. He keeps panfish. But the cats he gets more often than not he releases. That's fine but throwing everything back is rediculous.

I agree! Something about seeing that cork move, gets me going. Really not sure if I’ll ever catch one that big again but that’s why I measured and weighed, for my personal record. I have a DJI Mavic mini with the 3 batteries. I use my phone for the screen. I recommend spending more and getting the built in screen controller. My phone overheated while I was flying and I had to put it in the ice chest to cool it off in order to retrieve the drone lol. You can get one that follows your boat. Thanks again for watching!

I fried them whole with the Cajun Ninja fish fry, I seasoned them with Cajun land seasoning and rubbed with mustard and egg. Coated with fish fry and deep fried for about 3-5 mins each. They were delicious, picked off the bone.

You need a much larger boat Google the father and daughter fishing in a canoe and they pulled up a float and the alligator they caught on the other end mouth could have swallowed his daughter whole but he could have killed the father easily also his mouth was huge making that alligator around 6or 7 hundred pounds be careful pls
