The Starbucks (or at least my managers) I work at doesn't even allow us to do that. We can only do iced espresso in a tall cup, because they know people try and cheat us like that. Personally, I don't care, I'd give it to em. 80% of the time the milk on the bar ends up not being used anyway and it just goes down the drain then, so technically it's better used when people do crap like this. But you Could cheat a tall iced latte and my managers wouldn't say anything. It's the bigger ones that get to em.

As a Starbucks barista, this gets under my skin every time I see it. You're not clever, you're just cheap. Specialty coffee is priced higher to allow a fair wage to the farmers we trade with. Sourcing the beans ethically is expensive in and of itself, so be courteous to those who work much harder than you do without a morning cup of coffee. And in the off chance you don't care about ethics, an iced venti latte gets three shots, not two.

I actually work at a starbucks...if you get a Venti iced latte it would come normally with 3 shots of espresso! So, if you plan on doing this hack I'd get 3 shots over ice so that your drink tastes just like normal! 😊

I do this but not to save money but calories. I bring my own cashew milk which is only 25 calories per 8 oz compare to 180-200 calories for non fat milk. Starbucks almond and coconut milk are also higher in calorie than no sugar added almond milk or cashew milk you bring . These small hacks and changes in my diet has resulted in me losing 65 lbs .

This is super annoying, if you cant afford to get it dont get it. ive had someone order an iced americano with no water, full pumps of cinnamon dolce, and 2% and i was just like...okay one iced quad venti cinnamon dolce latte. baristas arent stupid. The prices are high but starbucks also does a lot to compensate for the high prices...unlike places like mcdonalds which have their cheap prices that match their cheap quality, Starbucks tries to cater to their customers wants. They try to be fun and creative, and try to give their customers benefits. i used to hate starbucks but after working there and comparing it to places i had worked previously, they do a lot for their customers.

Ice always goes before the espresso for an iced espresso. Queue shots after putting ice in the cup. I worked there for 2 years. And this method of putting milk by yourself means ur not getting the freshest milk from our inside fridge and not letting the people who actually need the milk, use it. You pay less but get less fresh milk plus all the ice that will water down your drink. It's just better to spend 2 extra and get a fresh iced latte. Your also just being a dick by doing that.

In venti iced espresso drinks they get an extra shot of expresso because of the ice, so it's 3 shots. It probably taste watered down with just 2 shots. And some people don't add a full venti scoop of ice to the 2 shots in thr venti cup because theres people who do just want iced espresso and need to stick their straw through all the ice.

While this idea in theory is amazing for Starbucks lovers, this kind of behavior is "deadly" to the franchise locations it's happening at ( and while I agree a iced latte should not be over 4 dollars) all of this relates to the minimum wage argument of businesses not being able to afford to pay their employees because when you think about it you paid $2.65 for the double shot of espresso instead to the $4.65 for the iced latte, then filling the rest of the cup with milk to dilute and make it like an iced latte, saving you the 2 dollars on your purchase well you probably just costed the company for that 2 dollars, and for franchise locations that's a big deal if everybody starts to do it, they would make less money and have to start cutting hours for employees, I live in Canada and work at a Harveys ( Canadian burger joint) when you buy a burger the Burger is priced for what it comes with, meat, bun, ketchup, mustard, Mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion, relish. But we allow the customer to customise, but when someone asks for everything and 6 pickles the company is now loosing the money for the 6 pickles, which is basically the same principal at every franchise across the world so what I'm trying to say is you can't have everything it's Ethier saving 2 bucks or having a livable minimum wage, and if you can't afford it don't get it.

When I saw how very little my cup had been filled I was like????? I did not ask for this much room for cream. What i do is that i order the coffee of the day (this is something we have in Mexico, idk about the US or other countries) venti iced with milk (whichever milk you want) and it comes out at 39 pesos which is like 2.10 dlls. They don’t charge extra for different milk. I always order coconut milk which in any other order comes to be 7 pesos extra (40-ish cents).

shots die after 13 seconds, espresso shots, they taste terrible!!! in my Starbucks training they made me try a dead shot vs live shot, there's a huge difference so unless you can get from the bar to the condiment bar in 13 seconds (from when the shot was done pulling, ie. finished coming out of the espresso machine) your drink is going to be far less in quality, you get what you pay for though.

If you want to save money just get an iced coffee with extra "whatever kinda milk" you want! it even comes with classic or better yet you can sub it with another syrup (not including sauces: Mocha, White Mocha,...) at no extra cost. Also by getting the iced coffee you don't look like an asshole!

I would feel mega uncomfortable cheating like this because there are people working really hard trying to make a living, whether it's out of farming coffee beans or just being a barista. Well, you can cheat the system but what are the consequences? The store earns lesser money and as a result manpower has to reduce by 1 personnel in order to hit the sales target every day. You will end up with lethargic baristas serving you. They are the ones who are having a hard time, but customers don't care because they don't know what's going behind or choose to be oblivious. Also, your latte will end up with a low quality one because the hot espresso melts the ice too fast, which means your 'freshly' made iced latte is similar to that left in the open for 20 minutes; Diluted iced latte in short. Milk that is not refrigerated for 1 minute gets bad really fast once the temperate exceeds 39.2F as bacteria starts to multiply more rapidly. In the end, you are paying $2.45 for a diluted iced latte with slightly sour milk.

i work at a starbucks, at ours we don’t allow people to do that because it costs us money so we only fill the carafes halfway to deter people from using it all. i wouldn’t recommend trying that because they could make you pay for the drink you’ve made yourself, when it’s our job to make your drinks.

Well i work for starbucks and a venti comes with three shots not two. So it comes out to around three dolloars. In our lattes we use 2% milk. Those containers hold half and half cream. Also we dont put those out like that anymore lol. Nice try. We will still charge you.
