How I do it is neutral left stick, flick the right stick in opposite direction and then hold in the direction I want to trigger the release of the shot. Easier than doing dribble moves with right stick, and then using square. Neutral stick only works if you execute a hop jumper backwards, left and right hop jumpers result in a pull up.

I'm really enjoying the contest system in this game. That James Harden clip, while still greenable, would not have counted as a wide open shot in previous 2Ks simply because the defender jumped towards you.

It’s too bad shot creating isn’t great in the Rec. Randoms don’t give you enough room to breakdown your defender or they complain if you have the ball longer than 2 seconds. Low IQ off ball movement moving their defender into the open spots you’re targeting, but outside of 5v5 I can pretty much do what I want. Shot creating feels unguardable when done right this year. And with the additional do the whistle badge you can punish people who jump at you when they’re way out of position. I always felt like jump shot fouls weren’t prevalent enough in past 2ks and that let defenders play poor defense and get away with by jumping with high stats. The game has some issues but it feels really good to play right now.

Try spot up on the baseline, and kept your attack between 1 and 2 dribbles, it keeps them from wrapping you, and if you leave yourself enough space you’ll have space to drive the baseline and setup your shot creating

Hi Kevin i apreciate your content a lot I find all the tips you give very valuable and useful for enjoying one-on-one matches. The problem is that in the higher leagues of the game, people don't defend manually but instead rely on the pivot to wait for you and let the team work automatically. Do you think one should play against this type of people and what kind of strategies could be applied?"

For these types of users you’re going to have to be really good in beating the cpu and forcing them to match up to you. I also like to punish these users by running plays or freelances. Can anyone please explain how the “step back” at 4:00 isn’t a travel in real life or the game. James Harden started making it acceptable and I just don’t understand how it’s legal.
@KevinCruz016 Жыл бұрын
Man, there’s this guy I follow on twitter who is really good at the gather step rule. Coach Nick of Bball breakdown is too! If you search some of his videos he’ll do a great job, because I know the rule technically but my brain still says the eye test says travel lol
@chiggsytube Жыл бұрын
Keep in mind in real life when they wanted to nerf Harden, they allowed you to foul him, which really, was and is an insane thing to allow in the game, utterly ridiculous that the reaction to Harden's ability to finish through contact was not to encourage better defensive discipline, but rather to allow the defense to foul the man. This is what they decided to do. Harden's double stepback was done top of the 3 point line, with zero off ball movement. It's not like he could sneak a travel in. Yes it looks crazy. No it's not travelling. Like Tutes said, Coach Nick from BBallBreakdown will set you straight.
