I really like how so many of Frieren's flashbacks to the Heroes' original 10 year journey focus on things like making flowers and helping children rather than fighting monsters and such. It really highlights how precious she finds those memories even decades after Himmel's death.

Yeah the saying "Even little things in life matter" is key point here Frieren always says a "mere" but she still hasnt processed the fact that all those little things she "didnt knew" (knew) was actually the things that she actually knows about them meaning she acctually learned more withing those 10 years about them even tho she realizes them sooo much later

You can just imagine the time skips and the accompanying montage as seeing time flying through Frieren's eyes.
@luigimanzelli37866 ай бұрын
imagine living so long that if you get sidetracked into a mundane quest multiple decades pass and people you know might be dead. She always cared for Himmel, even in life, she was just so absorbed by the her research that she never visited before the meteor shower (good thing she remembered that one at least), cause initially she said she was going to pass by once in a while, but she didn't, that's what she regrets. The problem is that she was alone, if she's alone time is nothing to her, now she's with Fern so they can't be having decades sidequests anymore for obvious reasons :D

Evan Call did his best for stroking the ears. How Madhouse animate the step in the water is blatantly awesome. Madhouse animated the subtle things so gorgeous. /edit: The second bottle frieren poured on the grave was the bottle heiter holds after rescuing Fern. The first was the one frieren purchased for him

If you pay attention to the bottles Frieren pours onto Heiter's grave, the second one is the bottle Heiter was holding when he stopped Fern from jumping, meaning that's the day he gave up drinking, for the little girl he fostered.

17:23 "We didn't know Himmel, really." Neither did Frieren. She 'knew' all the things she's remembering here, of course, but she never really thought about them or put them all together into an understanding of him as a person. So that's why the show is formatted like this. We get to know Himmel as Frieren gets to know Himmel. It's such a great show :D

Frieren is that special type of a show, that creates very peaceful and pleasant mood. And besides all other great things in it, like music, animation, humour and characters, it's this peaceful and comfy vibe that elevates this show to it's massive popularity. Which also could ve said about LOTR, so watch it, it is THAT popular)
@ObiwanNekody5 ай бұрын
With 1 exception, all of the names of people and places in this series are German words. While knowing them isn't necessary to understand or enjoy the show, there can be a lot of added value, especially with symbolism, for knowing the names. Frieren - (to feel) cold Fern - Distant Himmel - Sky/Heaven Heiter - Cheerful, bright. Also part of a German word for something along the lines of 'happily drunk' iirc Eisen - Iron Flamme - Passion, flame The easiest example for added value is how often you see shots of the sky and Frieren or Himmel framed against the sky. These are Himmel references, showing he's there symbolically.

I need that Lord of the Rings reaction RIGHT NOW. Of course it is popular, it is literally the model for modern fantasy. All the games, animes, novels and movies in the genre are inspired by LOTR books and movies. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if suddenly twilight had some slight inspiration in LOTR(I doubt it but my point stands).

It is exceedingly rare for someone to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy and come away not absolutely loving the story. It has an appeal to everyone. Even if you don't love it, I don't think I know of anyone that regretted watching them. I meant to comment on the last video, but even with the flowers in this episode, this show makes me awestruck with how pretty and beautiful things are. Like, if this is how girls feel when watching Disney princesses, I think I get it now lol.

About LoTR, I think I would enjoy the book version of it. Like a novel. It was from a novel right ? ... Right ? I've seen the movie, not the whole, but try to watched but I don't remember anything about it, meaning it doesn't leave any mark. Not impressed about the characters and a bit of story that I catch. So I never look back at it. I got Narnia vibes from that brief time. But it just doesn't hit me like Narnia did. Sorry if you disagree.
