I want to change articulations on the fly for Chamber Strings using my StreamDeck XL. I dowmnloaded a midi plugin / app made for StreamDeck to allow midi messages, but I still can't get it to work.Any chance of starting from the beginning? Like, an app or download you use to allow StreamDeck to send MIDI commands? How to make the Spitfire profile for chamber strings, BBC or other? How to link the StreamDeck to the DAW or Plugin? Then how to assign the CC commands in StreamDeck? Thanks!

Yes! I can help. There are two older videos that I’ve created that may help: Use a Streamdeck to Mode Switch & Change Articulations in Spitfire BBCSO | #oneorchestra kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGTGaKCOZseSgac And Download this FREE pack for your Streamdeck (both XL and Standard) here: www.dropbox.com/sh/pjvg77x2pg2lllf/AAAJnKXw1sbIHjjcqZha_4v-a?dl=0 I’ve noticed that with updates to Logic and Streamdeck that some command features have changed. Midi commands like the one I show is the best way forward. I’ve since shifted to a different control input. You’ve reminded me to update this video.

this is very useful! Maybe you do it for more libraries like Hyperion strings and 8Dio anthology

I get the message with the non XL one you did (and this one) "There are multiple profiles using the application Logic Pro, this one will not be executed" Not sure what to do. I see below you say I have to import something into Logic.... I guess it is this file LogicPX Key Commands V2.logikcs doing File> Key Commands > Import. My question would be -- would importing those perhaps over-write some that I have already created (luckily only a few I did myself - the rest are stock Logic) ? Or would any over-write stock Logic ones?

You have to tell the software which is your preferred profile. If the one you don’t want to use, set the default application to none. This will fix the problem. It’ll work then 😁 Don’t forget to import the keyboard shortcut file in Logic. Good luck 😁

@@euansmithmusic Ok thanks -- it appears that if I leave the stream deck app open - and look at logic - I can have the ones I set up show up. To display the ones you have here - I would close the stream deck app and with logic open - yours would appear. However - I would like both mine and yours together (your folders in my main default view - so I can easily use my key commands or your spitfire commands if I am using spitfire) How do I get yours to go into my main default view without over-writing what I have already made - so that I can easily have access to my Streamdeck command folders as well as yours - without having to switch profiles? (Right now for yours - In the separate profile - I have the application as logic pro - and it says - "Stream Deck will automatically switch to this profile when the Stream Deck app window is close and the following application is in the foreground" (logic pro))

@@euansmithmusic I loaded the key commands for this one into logic. The correct way is not as you stated (there is nothing named key commands under the file menu) - but rather - you have to go into key commands under Preferences - Key Commands - Edit - then use the drop down on upper left (cog) to import. So - apparently - I would have to load key commands for whatever file folder system of yours I was working with - and re-load my old one if I wanted to use my own stream deck file system? (versus them being additive?) You have a different key command load file for your download under your other video - with the non XL files. After loading the key commands for your BBSO and Albion One & the Eric Whittaker - none of the button presses work when I press them in their respective programs. For example - strings does not bring up strings - and anything under those gives the caution sign.

I’d make a folder in your profile, then copy and paste mine into it. Or you can have a command key to switch profile, but all the time never having to manually switch.

How strange, the newer profile is for the most recent version of Logic that runs on Mojave so at the time of recording, that was correct. If you’re running Big Sur or newer, there has been a specific update to Logic on those operating systems. Just make sure you have the MIDI commands feature installed on your Streamdeck. I’ll try to have a look at this today, but currently on another project, so juggling time. Remember the more recent versions of the video are to update the old one, which is to be expected.

Hi Evan, is there any chance that you have made a version of this that works with Cubase?
@euansmithmusic10 ай бұрын
Hi David, unfortunately I don’t own Cubase so at the moment, I’m unable to, but I’m certain there’s a key map out there for Cubase, through the Elgato store, that’s worth finding. Thanks for watching 😀

Thanks so much for such a quick response. I do have a cubase profile but was more interested in being able to control BBCSO Pro in Cubase the way you are in Logic. It looks like it would be a great addition.@@euansmithmusic

Where do we install the key commands file?
@euansmithmusic3 жыл бұрын
In Logic Pro. I think under File> Key Commands > Import.
