I have to say this, i love how good of a teacher you actually are. You understand very good what the students need, and you even ask them how they felt. Props to you just by the teaching skills alone.

Thank you man. In this lesson specifically there was a 'pro driver and coach' ranting on the chat about how my teaching was wrong and how I was ripping off people's money. That's why I finished the session talking those things.

@@SuellioAlmeida Watching this I was getting pissed off for you, they were "correcting" the things you were saying. Adding dumb stuff like "maybe turn the racing line on" as if learning the proper racing line through a circuit is gonna help this guy more than learning how to actually drive the car. You're not coaching the guy to be faster on Watkins Glen, you're coaching the guy how to be faster on all circuits in all cars and they were just not getting that..

@@SuellioAlmeida hahah, don't feed the animals. Everyone is a "Pro" in chat. I would argue that not many people are out there editing content down, working with others perfecting their racecraft, and moving the hobby forward as a whole as you are coach. Let the dead bury the dead, you are right over the target with these lessons. This video does nothing more than show us the value of the lessons you and the team are offering. I'm quite looking forward to when my racecraft plateaus and I work lessons into my budget. Edit: Racing line is a crutch I wish I would have not utilized. Getting g away from it snd watching my times fall off has not been easy. But personally I found myself using them as my break marker not the track and details around that reveal themselves to me.

This was quality coaching, for free, and taught effectively while we get to watch someone actually employ the techniques and get faster. Was an eye-opener for me. Especially about how to test for maximum rotation and loosing hands on exit. Realised I wasn't really pushing the limits. And trolls will be trolls bud. Your driving results speak for themselves and your coaching does too. Thanks heaps mate, new sub here 👍🏼

You're the best coach I've seen Suellio ! Your way to spot and deconstruct the flaws in driving style is incredible. What is more incredible, is the succession of little "easy" steps to address them. For each step, you're giving a basic exercise in order to "feel" the difference. Once learned, you then address another point. Isolated at first. And then merge with the others. At then end, it's WOW ! What a difference ! Night and day.

Nice video! One concept that helped me a ton while learning was the oversimplified thought of the tires as having 100% grip available. Steering input, braking, and accelerating all utilize some of this grip. When threshold braking, 100% of the grip is being used to slow down. If you try to start your turn in, there is 0% grip available for steering input.. so you understeer and/or can lock up/loop around. As you begin letting off the brakes, grip becomes available and you can start your corner turn in. Say 50% of grip braking the car, 50% steering. When you're mid corner and either 0% brake pressure or just trailbraking for rotation, you have all the grip available for steering input. This means mid corner you can really crank on the wheel as needed. On corner exit you lessen the steering input so that more % grip becomes available for acceleration. This results in faster corner exit speed and the car naturally pushing wide.

I'm getting into sim racing just now and was looking around for some coaching from different sources, since I, as a longtime athlete in one of the most technically difficult sports around, namely sports dancing/ballroom dancing, know, that you will develop really bad habits right away without some proper information and coaching. On every training I have rehearsed basics before going to the advanced stuff to always at least maintain my technique and hopefully improve. Basic is king, and if that is unknowingly wrong, you will get lost trying to fix anything that's not working in the advanced section. The things in this session all made sense, and he hit the biggest deficits in the student's driving on basics. I'm very comfortable with your way, Suellio !

Thanks for this. I've been a bit stuck in iRacing (w12, mostly open wheel), not progressing much in the last 3 or so months but sometimes "somewhat" competitive. I watched this entire video and drove along with it with the USF2k at Watkins. I've known my braking telemetry wasn't the smoothest for awhile. I use Meca Cup1 pedals, with a pretty stiff brake setup and wear vans type (Nike SB) shoes while racing. After watching this video and really practicing, I still couldn't really get the smooth peak to trail off brake telemetry. So I switched my brake pedals to the softest setup and tried it with socks, really paying attention to what I learned in this video. Within a few laps with the softer brake setup, socks, and this video, I cut a full SECOND off my lap times in the w12 at Monza. Which is a major break through for me at least. Thanks again for sharing this!!

The lesson itself is... surface level? Something that most of the seasoned ranked road drivers have some inkling of knowledge naturally, which might partly be the reason it's uploaded publicly, but! The way you digest, explain, and point out the specifics layer by layer is exemplary, and actionable to any new simracer. As someone who's been into simracing for a couple of years, I'm always worried about how I can understand and apply what the coach is telling me within that time limit, but you assured me with how much I get to understand what I'm doing here. And most likely, you know a lot more deeper stuff that might even surprise me. The only reason I'm on the fence right now, is that I feel I still have "yet to try everything" before making that decision. I don't have the luxury of having money for multiple sessions without burning my whole paycheck, so I'm just being careful.

lol at some of the stream comments lol. Coaching isn't someone telling you to do something better. That's NOT what coaching is and that goes for coaching in any sport. Good coaching (and coaching sessions in this case) is someone who is experienced enough to IDENTIFY your mistakes and your weaknesses, who KNOWS what you're doing wrong and can guide you in correcting those mistakes. That's what coaching is. It's not someone telling you to brake better and driver faster. Coaching has it's value because you're paying someone to watch you, figure out what you're doing wrong and then give you best possible ways to correct those things that you're doing wrong. The arm chair coaches in the comments are hilarious... most of them wouldn't know where to start if they watched someone they never seen do a lap, they wouldn't have a clue what the driver is doing wrong, and where or how to even correct those issues. Just like you don't pay the doctor to tell you to "Feel Better", you don't pay a coach to tell you to "Drive or play better". You're paying for the ability of someone to diagnose the problem and find a remedy.

Most coaches and drivers follow the "Line -> Car handling" approach of learning. In the sim you can be more free to experiment without actual crash damage, so I find it more effective to do "Car handling -> line". If you feel the car first, the lines will be natural and will feel right. If you try the "right lines" but don't know what to do with the car, you may get lost and feel absolutely no confidence. He probably was trying to do the lines. But was not feeling comfortable with the inputs. That's why I focused on car handling first, then the lines made sense.
