Of all the norther fish I miss catching smallmouth is the #1. They're like catching a giant bluegill. Their fight is so much fun, especially on lighter tackle, and they're the prettiest freshwater game fish IMHO. Their markings are beautiful.

Good way to recharge your batteries after a tough tournament. Love using the keitech also. For more rolling action and durability try xzone swammer 2.8;3.5 or 4.0”. And especially on the Wisconsin river the 309 color has really been good. 309 color is colored like the river smallies and they are cannibals eating small smallies

I like that you don't set your drag so light that it is always slipping like I see more and more. Drag is for when the fish makes a strong run or you hook a very large fish.

Hammer down exclamation point nothing like catching Smallmouth on a crystal clear Northern Lake. Great to see you're going to get some family time period And I am glad you showed a comparison between the regular and the finesse. The Finesse heads are the only thing I don't have that core tackle makes. I have regular tush heads. I would have thought the only difference was the hook wire gauge. Thanks for the information

Matt, thank you for the gentle soft releases of the fish. I really dislike watching guys throw the fish 6’ in the air. We should cherish and protect our resources.

Hey Matt, I just got back from vacation in the BWCA in northern MN. Fishing was tough because it early you know but...... I did very well on your swimjigs!!!!!! It was the only thing they would take other than a jerkbait. Thank you!! Core tackle swimjigs are great!!! I used 1/4 oz 4/0 best colors were gillty pleasure and black and blue.

@MattStefanFishing6 ай бұрын
Yes and it’s amazing! The finesse tubes are awesome in a small 2.5” tube too. My Wednesday night video coming out today has some tube/finesse tush fish catches!

Seems like it would tear up any paddle tail that is relatively soft in nature. Probably wouldn't work well with soft swimbaits that have a slimmer profile that that Keitech Fat.
@MattStefanFishing6 ай бұрын
youd be surrpised what you can get it into.
@markhogquist20006 ай бұрын
@@MattStefanFishing That's what she said. Just ordered 3 packs. Gonna give them a try. Much more cost effective than swimbait jig heads. I use the OSP Dolive Shad and Raid Full Swing a lot. If the bait keeper is big and gnarly, they tear up pretty bad.

That's some pretty water. That must be nice after being on that Eufaula mud puddle. This might be a silly question, but do you point your rod straight at the bait when you retrieve this bait, or are you offset a bit? I only have a few of the red TUSHs that u got at the Classic left. Those looked so cool, I've been painting some of my regular TUSH heads. Really gives the bait a cool look. Tenkiller smallmouth seem to like em.
