I have a suggestion for something. Years ago my brother and I got bored with paddles. We grabbed yardsticks and started playing. You use both hands, kind of like fighting with quartersticks the way Robin Hood is depicted fighting in old movies. Then we got tired of that so we sat on the floor at each end of the table and started hitting the ball with the yardsticks, trying to score by getting the ball through the defense of the other person to the wall behind them. It was really fun and challenging, because the yard/meter sticks are so much narrower than a paddle, but also the two handed, wide grip is very different.
