This Tarkov Wipe Doesn't Feel The Same...

Tarkov noob here, I bought the game in late August. I kind of feel late to the party, because I see a lot content creators or long time players talking how the game is past its prime now, or how burnt out they feel (which I think is understandable when you have thousands of hours put into the game), or how many unresolved issues it stil has. However, despite all of this, it really started growing on me. I'm still bad at it and I die a lot to high playtime gigachads, but I make progress despite all the struggle. I mostly do night raids for questing and scav runs for quick money, upgrading my hideout, building guns, etc. And all of it feels great, especially that adrenaline rush during gunfights (well at least the ones where I don't get one tapped without even a chance to react) and a sense of relief and achievement when I extract alive with a backpack full of loot and a quest done. I'm playing PVP only this wipe to see how far I'll be able to go, the next one I'm going to try PVE more and then I'll see which mode to stick to. Ok this rant is starting to get a little to long, so I'll just end with saying that I'm really enjoying Tarkov so far, despite all of its flaws.

Tarkov is a great game dude, don't get me wrong. I'm quite new In the grand scheme of things too and I felt just like you in my first wipe. I loved the game sunk so many hours in and second wipe was when I really started to get the hang of it and make some plays and money. Now 3rd time round doing these quests I am feeling the repetition. I love the game though so I'll probably just avoid those quests next wipe

@@generalpixel There really is no other game like it. Once you figure out the maps and how to make money you’ll survive a lot more. Find a kit that you like that doesn’t cost a fortune so if you die you can just go kit right back up again. Best of luck dude!

@@MaskedFPS exactly, repetition is the problem, we have a job, we play 3 hrs a day, we get traders max rep after 4 months, get the hideout set and max skill after 6 months, then BANG, wipe

Yeah. But wipes are a must or else it gets stale. They should do a soft reset every 6months like stash wipe and reset level 1 but maybe your quest progression stays, idk 🤣

@ ppl also did not complain they had nothing to do in the past, cause gun fight in tarkov is unique too, and all that adrenaline makes the game so fun now without quick throwing-grenade , annoying inertia, disappointing dynamic loot, this game has become so not fun

I feel you mate. "Fozzie" here. Not a streamer but I have 9.5K hours and Kappa 3 or 4 times. I play solo, lvl 45 at the moment. I hate Arena, it has no relation to Tarkov for me. I also resent that most players are level 50+ because of Arena and there is less reason to grind quests in the main game when Ref 4 is so utterly broken. It's definitely got 'late wipe' feel with how few players are in each raid. Especially annoying when you're trying to do all the late level tasks that involve killing players.

I have just as many hours as you and its fucking amazing that I dont have to grab pocketwatch for the 20th time, I have a full time job and tbh arena fixes everything that I felt was wrong with the game for people who dont have a ton of time to spare anymore

I think what they should do is just make you do the quest once to unlock the reward (attachment, gun etc.) And then in future wipes you redo it just for the xp. That way it's still beneficial to quest as you get more xp than just playing and pvping but you don't force people to do quests they hate every single wipe like setup, Punisher 4 etc.

I own the game for like 5 years but "only" have a bit more than 1000 hours on it... for me the arena progression was nice, because if you only play from time to time even unlocking the fleemarket ist a struggle... also i think Arena isnt that much of a problem because of trader reputation... Icould have tier 3 Peacekeeper for a long time but since i cant seem to finish "friends from the west part 1" i havent been able to unlock his questline and thus dont have the reputation.

tbh arena DESTROYED progression in this game, completely ruined any fun this game was. Theres no early wipe with arena now, you can literally level up to 30 without even playing tarkov and thats bullshit tbh. I havent really been playing this wipe either because of it. BSG will take 3 steps forward then take 15 steps backwardss with each update and they will know when the player base is non existent. And the amount of cheaters in this game is sad

I havent thought much about how arena affected tarkov but yes it definitely is broken, along with ref and the keys, lega medals and such. Making money in arena is far too easy as well as leveling.

@ yeah it gave arena players an unfair advantage. And I honestly am not a fan of arena but just because I don’t like arena and don’t wanna play it, it then puts me at a huge disadvantage then everyone else playing it. BSG will do ANYTHING to make more money and rip off the player base and that’s why they made it so arena and Tarkov linked so it would force more Ppl to buy arena . BSG’s business practices or super Shady.

Ive recently discovered SPT and I've been having way more fun than I ever had playing live tarkov. So many QoL stuff in stash management, better AI, UI, etc. No real players does take some tension out but its worth the trade off. Never going back to live.

if we have little time to invest in live tarkov, then SPT is the go, since it is so convenient ( can buy good ammo from traders, can skip some of the most hated tasks, etc etc)

6th wipe for me. Highest I have ever got is 34, but work full time etc etc. Almost sat out this wipe and I agree with most of what you said. Im probably gonna wait until "release" before I put a lot more hours into it.

When we’ve completed the same quests for the 11th time we’re bound to get bored. Idk how they would change this but veteran players should not have to do the quests for the 20th time, just gets sooooooo boring.

Yeah I know. That's why even if they shuffle starting quests around. Like maybe you start with peacekeeper quests lv1 on shoreline first. Maybe that brings some uniqueness back to each wipe

There are quests in this game that just sucks the will to live out of you and if you do them over and over, wipe after wipe it will mess up the enjoyment of the game. But it gave me a huge boost when I started playing my brother, it's a 100 times better as a duo.

I'm not playing much cause the wipe is so short. I suck at the game so it takes me ages to get anything done, so it doesn't seem appealing to push myself on hard quests when I know a new wipe will get me before I make much of a dent in the content. Im roughly in the 30-35 lvl range and most the tasks I am ignoring. I am mainly going in looking for fights. Where I lack confidence is in Pvp so I am forcing myself to go after PMC's to lose my fear and build that confidence. So far I have killed 50 real players which is probably more than my last 2 wipes combined. I have been jump scared by a few 2 mans on shoreline, Streets, woods, and customs and had no hesitation on taking action and came out the victor. My last wipe I was still panicking, freezing up, and sometimes not jumping at my advantage of information. You create content so the way you approach the game, Id imagine, is much different than a casual player. My only suggestion, which you may already have in mind, is to switch up your content style from time to time. Do pvp clip compilations. Fight to fight break downs, try and get a collab going, maybe weapon challenges where you do nothing but use guns you don't like or never use, potentially try and run raids where you try to voip to get someone to team with you, or voip to troll for fun. You have so many options so don't feel like you are stuck in a box.

Just remember, you are allowed to play other games. The Tarkov grind every wipe can take a toll on you, especially if you've done the same tasks repeatedly since 2017.

Yeah very true bro, I want to slowly begin incorporating more games on this channel I just haven't found one that I'm as motivated about as tarkov to begin with yet 😁

Yeah, unfortunately we are all going to experience this at some point. I took this wipe off to try and get the feeling back. Maybe when 1.0 releases I will come back again. Until then Other things are taking my time currently. Delta Force Extraction mode has been a breath of fresh air, waiting for that to come back in Decemeber. Hope you keep well dude!!

I have to say, ive always enjoyed the PVP element to Tarkov but this wipe its a struggle, audio is broke especially in busy PVP areas like dorms, scavs are often cracked now too. I have even resorted to PVE but soon became bored of that, I am 6k hours in this game and It's so far from the original, technically its good but gameplay, PVP and the actual things that make EFT good is becoming so diluted now. Maybe its time for me to find another game, if only the weapon handling wasn't so damn good. Anyways, I'm feeling your pain brother... thanks for the vid 👍

The main thing for me is how repetitive the questing is and being forced to do the painful quests that I hate. Next wipe I'll try and not do them and see if that feels better. Tarkov is hard to replicate though, that is true..

@@MaskedFPS Tasks are just off the wall, and some seem designed to break your spirit, setup is just a super grind and its not even a quest you can do bit by bit or whilst running other quests, I think ive attempted to do it three times now and have decided not to do it, running around wearing the bad kit required and up against scavs is fine but a squad of giga-chads rock up and you dont stand a chance. Pah!!!

I would love to see quest rework. Just make new ones, delete the most annoying quests and maybe make some story that you can follow. I have only 700h but I feel tired doing these quests again.

Do you only play solo? Might be fun to hop on with a buddy, chatter to break up the monotony. I used to play solo, and while it's still fun for quests, I can't imagine going back just because of the boredom.

I tend to play solo when I record videos and with friends just to chill, although most people I played with have somewhat moved on from Tarkov so that might also be why it feels more draining 😅

Its not just you. This wipe I stopped playing after 4weeks. Landed at level 33 and that was that... I felt fatigue and sunkinda dullness. Still watching content but havent been able to force myself to play, just occasional pve raid

To me this was one of the worst wipe just because of the arena and EFT xp linked. For the next wipe i just hope they separate arena and eft; they bring back the "found in raid" status to be able to sell on the flee and finally they add new quests because it's boring to do the same quests over and over again each wipe

I play on standard edition, so the punisher questline is very important to me, unfortunately it's such a draining questline that this is the third time i quit at part 6. I just hate the semi's so much, it doesnt fit my play style at all.

I've done the punisher part 4 for the first time this wipe only my 2nd wipe 400hrs. Thanks for the tip last wipe for the shotgun scav kills in the red house on lighthouse did it in one raid 👍. But it tool me all in all 3 weekends nearly 30 hrs to do that one quest. I've only done it cuz I have standard account and wanna get used to how to cheese the quest in future to get it done faster. You don't really need to do it bro you got a gamma container just passively do it 2 maybe 3 raids on lighthouse sniping coattges then go do summat else. Saying that dude this wipe feels a bit shitty cuz of arena level up for me it's a bit too op

Yeah dude Punisher 4 is a literal chore. I will be uploading a full Punisher questline vid and I found a somewhat cheesy strategy for part 4 where I've gotten 6/10 so far. I definitely will not be doing it again next wipe, you are right since I have the gamma.

The low player count has made the wipe seem very stale. I'm stuck on Punisher Pt.6 with one SVD kill to go.. Raids are dead with maybe one other person spawning on the opposite side of the map. Chasing gunshots is hard when you barely hear any for an entire raid.

This has been the best wipe ever for me. Punisher part 4 was hell but I’ve really enjoyed the more accessible flea market it’s made making money a lot easier and allowed me to keep up with other players a little better.

That's good to hear man! Whilst I like the more easily accessible flea and no FIR, arena makes leveling to easy and making money a bit to easy also which kills the craving to grind rubles but maybe it's just me 😅

@@MaskedFPS True, honestly I hate to say but extract camping certain spots is the best way to use em like D2 or elevators on labs when we're this late into wipe, but it's fun to rig the early wipe quest item locations like big red offices or pocket watch. Did see BSG may let us boobytrap dead bodies in the future too 👀

Hot take: I don't think people are ready to accept it, but the new recoil just made everyone play like such a weenie, and progression doesn't feel as rewarding. When recoil was higher, more people would run around because people can't just spray and pray full auto you from 50 meters with a stock gun. If they panic sprayed, they gave themselves away and a fight would ensue. Not to mention close-mid range fights, you could peak and bait without immediately getting hit by 5 bullets. Previously, you had to INVEST in a good kit, and RISK losing it to be able to be as lethal as a level 1 PMC is now. This sparked more gear fear and excitement, and drew you to want to grind to progress more and build better guns. It was terrifying when a chad was chasing you down when you didn't invest in a good kid. Now? I can hose down a chad with a stock gun easily. Before you really had to play strategically to fight beyond your gear, but it WAS possible. Once you nerf weapon progression, you're basically diluting the RPG mechanics and loot economy of the game, which to me was what made it unique. It sounds like the player base basically just wants the game to be Insurgency Sandstorm but with more downtime. It's still fun, and old recoil was far from perfect. But it's just night and day to me how it changed the flow of the game. It feels stale now.

Very interesting take on the problem, and I do see your point. This wipe in particular I feel like I've seen less "chads" actually pushing and running around in fights as opposed to someone hearing you and proceeding not to move at all until one of you is dead

Ref, Arena, Selling non found in raid items, marathon events giving 100k XP, marked room keys as reward for simple event tasks, so much swag has ruined this wipe. Every player in meta gear with lvl 6 and death shadow masks.

Never got kappa, don't think I ever will either. Far too ridiculous and time consuming. Labs and streets I still don't know very well 😅
