This Terraria weapon fires extraordinarily fast... The Chain Gun. Terraria has A LOT of awesome guns to chose from, varying in firing styles, damage and of course fire rate. Today we take a look at the fastest firing weapon in all of Terraria, the chain gun, which can be obtained post plantera from a Frost Moon. Of course, the question is, how does it hold up at this stage of the came, and does its crazy firerate actually make it that good? Enjoy!

I feel like you missed a great use for this weapon. Daytime Empress while using chlorophyte bullets. This has gotten me through that fight several times

SDMG is it. I've played both Melee and Ranger throughout the game on master mode and I say that, in my opinion, they're equally strong. For intance, after a few attempts against Moon Lord and learning his attack patterns enough to avoid 80% of his attacks, you can kill him easily with Zenith or SDMG. Zenith indeed have a higher DPS, but SDMG gets its place alongside of it by being able of hitting Moon Lord nonstop if you're using chlorophyte bullets, a nonstop damage that Zenith generally can't handle afford without the player mastering the patterns of Moon Lord's attacks. It seems to me that the problem is that most people don't praise SDMG as much as it deserves. I'm not saying people should praise SMDG as much as they praise Zenith. I just think people should praise SMDG as much as they praise Last Prism.

It’s extremely good, but only because it takes knockback, It’s also good against invasions, and keeping enemies at bay, but both it and the Arkhalis aren’t boss weapons, or late pre/hardmode ones That being said, it can bring you up to post-Queen been, or post Plantera/Golem Not as good in master mode, but definitely good weapons to use if you get them, even though most weapons with range are arguably much better

Chain Gun's high firerate works against it because even with a ton of ammo saving effects you eat through special bullets like no one's business.

Why no Venom bullets? Stick the target with an ichor dart or a "melee" ranged weapons with an ichor flask, then go HAM on everything with Venom bullets and their absurd base damage...plus debuff.

For me, chain gun fit the nano bullet, explosive bullet, high velocity, and endless musket pouch more. Nano and explosive are much cheaper than chlorophyte, so despite being less effective against bosses, they are more sustainable.

Chain Gun is not a direct update of Megashark, it's more unique weapon. Btw try with explosive bullets. The direct update of simple full-auto bullet-fed gun with low spread is S.D.M.G., and I mean the pre-1.3 version.

Too bad ranger is objectively the weakest class in 1.4, now that they've added whips for summoner, buffed a lot and reworked some melee weapons and mage just being mage. Ranger has kind of fallen irrelevant, wish they could buff the class like they did with melee.

To answer your question about summoners, whips just added a lot more DPS, combine it with the tag damage, whip speed bonuses you get from gloves, and flasks, it's gg. My point is that Ranger needs slight buffs. It's lacking behind, especially in the endgame. Melee has zenith Summoner has terraprisma (technically pre golem) Mage just exists in general And.. ranger... a dolphin gun. oh no fuck pls don't turn this into a 5-month long argument it's an opinion
