Normally, Thai people eat those kind of curry or fish cake with rice. You might find the taste was a bit too strong. But if you eat with rice it will become milder and more enjoyable, also, rice make your stomach full. We don't sip those spicy curries like soup as an appertizer in the western countries. The same logic to some countries eating bread dipped with curry. That was why the curry vendor asked if you guys want some rice.

Those food sold in trays are for a meal. You can pick as many things as you want. Thai people eat those curries and stir-frieds with some rice. That fish cupcake looked like my kind of treat. Looking at other comments, I understand that it should be eaten with rice, but I also would have just eaten it the same way. I do miss the fried chicken in Thailand. I haven't found a replacement for it here yet, and that is probably why I've been able to continue to lose weight here. The sound of the nails getting done was very pleasant. I would probably get mine done too, just for the relaxing sounds. Haha

The steamed fish curry, underneath, has leaves that can be eaten as well. It is just like a herb. You only need to peel off the banana leaves that cover the outside. And we mostly take it with steamed rice, included everything that the beautiful lady she sell. 😀

The one you having tried called "Hor Mok" as you know fish cup cake. The ingridient are red curry paste, coconut milk, egg, fish mix well all together after that pour into banana leaf & decorate on the top with coconut milk and steam. Thai have it with rice.

That cake is something we eat with rice too. Not eating like a snack like this The fried chicken, it's not really that hard if you use the fresh chicken with fresh batter. Most franchise and restaurant use frozen chicken so it's never tastier than daily stall like this
