Apart from my recording set-up, PC and microphones all my musical gear dates back to 1989 or older. Even my Theremin uses vacuum tubes. This is the first video I have watched on your channel, and the device you are reviewing is from outer space as far as I am concerned. I wouldnt know where to start.

very tempting! already have the Cubase FX Modulator and Cableguys´ ShaperBox3... but this sequencer Infiltrator 2 has, darn! looks very.

I own Infiltrator 2 and it is a killer on drum sequences. I paired it up with Beat Scholar inside a Unify stack that I saved and it just is WAY too much fun and useful. Great value. Glad to see you are an advocate for this.

I left a question but as far as infiltrator 2 I honestly prefer shaper box over this. It's probably simply the workflow for me.

I've never seen a sound designer like you. I know, they are out there, or else my music would suck, but it is amazing to watch you work this gig; a super dream job. I got the free download of these sounds, and I thank you for them.

That drone at 2:00 was straight out of Quake. Very good! If you sent that to me and said "hey George, Trent Reznor totally made this," first I'd believe you then I'd be like "Wait do you know him? Is he there with you? Ask him he wants to hear some of my music. Tell him I love him! No wait don't tell him that, that's weird, arrrgh I'm such a dork, just play it cool man!" Or something along those lines.

As a Pulsar owner, I don't want you to accidentally mislead people, but the machine is not completely analog. The bass synth is a DCO. From the Pulsar manual: "The synthesis module has a hybrid architecture: a digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) followed by an analog processing chain containing a low-pass resonance filter (LPF) with saturation mode, a voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA) and an envelope generator.A DCO is built on unique authoring algorithms of pure mathematicalsynthesis making the sound and behavior of DCO close to analog." With all that said, I don't care, because the whole machine behaves analog for sure. It's a wonderful thing.

Kinda curious how Reaper has been treating you since the switch, since I’m seeing it more in your videos. Are you enjoying it and how was the adjustment switching over to it?

I'm also curious about how you feel about REAPER. I've been using REAPER for 13 years and have a lot of love for it, but I've been using Logic and Bitwig more lately because of UI/UX issues.

I think it’s wrong to call the record function of the Pulsar a sequencer. It’s really four banks of four completely independent loopers, one per voice that can have separate clock sources.

Hey brother. Big fan of your channel and I especially like your attitude in your videos man. I really enjoyed your recent video with field recordings in the cave and tunnels. That is really inspiring and I hope you do more field recording videos! Maybe without risking your health lol. I came to your channel to ask what may be a "stupid" question, but here it goes, with a bit of an explanation. I have been producing hip hop and like genres since about 2003, always in the box. I have been using FL since it was referred to as Fruity Loops (version 3 or 4). I do not own a synthesizer, but I find myself wanting to recently. Before I do so I wanted to get some practice in designing patches in software so that when I get a physical synthesizer I will know what i am doing. I have what i think is probably intermediate knowledge with designing patches, but I know that I could understand the process better. Here is the question: If you had to pick a specific soft synth to practice on before buying a physical synth, what would it be?

There's an old windows-only VST that did FSU FFT mangling that I can't remember the name of. Heard shades of it in Infiltrator 2 just now. Sold.

Ey, since you made the switch to Reaper, would be interesting to have infos about your workflow and how you set it up. Also : how often do you use your Iridium ? It sounds good but it feels like a machine that can be so easily replaced by plugins such as Pigments.

so basically the Arcturis can be used within any VST that can load its samples? or is it just for infiltrator?
@producer1762 Жыл бұрын
Hey I have a question that isnt releated to the video: As a sound designer that also composes music, I assume you split up the process, at least to some degree between sound design and composing. But my question is how you organise it? As example, do you work towards some specific goal and save all that in a separate folder maybe for a specific track or album. Or do you just have it all saved similarly and search for the right material more chaotically while composing/arranging? Im just curios as im finding my own workflow. Thanks for your vids and work :)

So which thing is unreasonably cool? The Pulsar or Infiltrator?
@Ian-gw2vx Жыл бұрын
I really need to get into my Pulsar as I have had it 18 months and no5t really scratched the surface. What I find is the Bass drum is not really doing it for me. I would have liked it deeper but it doesn't seem to have that much scope.
@mistervalentin83962 жыл бұрын
Great video as always, and you have that deep sexy voice that we all covet! But seriously, the Infiltrator plug-in you feature is truly stupendous and great, but given that you can totally mangle sounds behind their original sonic footprint, it's redundant to then borrow (or buy) the Pulsar-23 at it's relatively high cost .. just buy a used Alesis SR-16 or an old Boss drum machine if you want to enhance the cheapo sounds to something crazy cool.... I just think featuring the Pulsar-23 and then making the sounds unrecognisable defeats the purpose of this interesting and inspiring drum machine. Otherwise, a great video and demo of two unique tools for music creation and manipulation!
