To be honest no one is allergic to gluten. Celiac disease isn’t a gluten allergy and only 1% of world has it. Not saying it’s not possible but unlikely. Celiac disease IS NOT likely to kill you, it’s not a deadly reaction.
@polarbearhero98037 ай бұрын
Celiac disease is not an allergy that causes an immediate allergic reaction that can kill (for example, a peanut allergy). Instead celiac causes an autoimmune reaction to occur. Once the patient eats gluten the immune system attacks the lining of the small intestine. A small of amount of gluten can destroy a large area of the small intestinal lining or a large amount of gluten can trigger a more modest loss. There is also a separate condition called gluten intolerance. So those are not killer donuts (probably). It all depends on how sick the person is already from celiac. If their small intestinal lining is already destroyed (villi are flat) it means they must be gluten free again to regrow it. The villi are how your small intestine absorbs nutrients.
@squiddiot54778 ай бұрын
As someone with a parent and sibling with severe Celiac’s disease, this is terrifying. Even if the donut simply TOUCHED other donuts labeled as gluten free, that could cause a lot of damage to my family members. Id say make it or sell it if you are prepared to know for a fact how it's made very least test them which would become a headache in itself.
