Also said during that rant that she’s obviously not my type because she ran background checks on my exes, and after them and I had broken up, 2 of the 4 got DUIs. 10 days later, she also got a DUI. Way to become a statistic, GIRL. Stuff like that is why I’m letting the right young woman come to me instead of trying to seek them out. I have neither the time nor the patience to do so. I was that man at age 26 to 31, had given up entirely not only on dating, but also on socializing with women altogether, avoiding situations where I had to interact with one, and if I had to, keep it as short and impersonal as possible, in oder to leave the situation as early as possible without being impolite. These were the most peaceful 5 years of my life. It was also the time at which women pursued me the most. I don't know to this day why I stopped. I suppose I just found the right one.

Dating really has become near impossible. One of the biggest issues I've noticed is that ghosting people has become the norm. The inability to communicate is really going to hurt our society in so many ways. I know somebody who owns a business and the young people coming in now can't even do an interview because they literally can't talk face-to-face. Worst date I've ever been on was when the gal literally was talking me through a list in her head of what the perfect man for her was and why I didn't meet any of her expectations. I wasn't tall enough, wasn't perfectly aligned with her belief which were very minor differences like whether we believed In mid-trib or pre-trib, that was the only difference. She said she was concerned that it wouldn't work out because I military and a cop so she said id we had gotten married we were more inclined to divorce, she talked about how I dressed which was a button up shirt and slacks, talked about my weight, talked about my somewhat crooked broken nose... It felt like she was literally there with a check list. Meanwhile she worked in fast food and her mom had to drop her off for the date I paid for. Not to dis on her or anything but like jeez, apparently being Christian, Military and first responder, holding the door for her, pulling out the chair so that she could sit down, paying for the date, asking about her interests and complimenting her, sharing the same interests, such as religion, creative writing, art, music still wasn't enough for some of women nowadays lol

Here's another ick, just learned this one last week. A woman who was pursuing ME (not the other way around) told me I'm undateable because I don't eat seafood. I wasn't even mad. Just laughed in her face at how petty she is and walked away. And the last comment about literally everything being questioned is absolutely a problem. "Why did you park the car THERE?" "WHAT were you DOING in THAT isle?" Why didn't you get my blanket out of the trunk?" "Why didn't you grab my wallet before we left home?" "Just push the cart out to the car, don't carry the bags!" (literally just had TWO bags with items, didn't need the cart) It's BAD, like, really REALLY bad. You literally cannot do or say a single innocent thing without being interrogated for it, and it's not just "one or two toxic women", it's been almost all of them in my life, including sisters. Society as a whole has a problem of disrespecting men so severely, that many people, men and women both, believe men cannot do anything right and that we're just big dumb idiots. I think if we can remove this narrative, we can correct this toxic and abusive behavior.

I mean its a new way of saying type or specific standard. Just like you said, theres flaws people can tolerate, which people are now calling “icks”, but also standards you refuse to budge on, also “icks”. My “ick” is unambitious and nonchalant guys. Being unambitious is a deal breaker, being nonchalant is a turn off but not a full on deal breaker. Its like if you wanted a girl who knew how to cook. Not knowing how to cook would be your “ick” but it would be up to you on whether youd want that to be a turn off that you two will work on together or if youre going to have it be a full on deal breaker. I started hanging out with a girl and we were getting close to “dating” and I got her pregnant. The second she got pregnant she acts like she progressively hates me more everyday. She won’t even let me go see her or help her around the house. It’s the day after Valentine’s Day and I’ve only seen her 4 times since her birthday at the end of September . She won’t even entertain the idea of us being a single family unit. I told her happy Valentine’s Day and got “Thanks” as a response like I’m getting friend zoned in high school. I actually got lectured for get her a present. I’ve tried to let all this go because she’s pregnant and we only knew eachother for 2 months before. If this one doesn’t work out I’m definitely done with all dating. The women just get more judgmental and more heartless ever year. Being with someone used to be a fun and enjoyable experience. The last 3 years or so, it just brings stress, lies and arguments. The dating world now is not what it was a few years ago when I was in my early 20’s. Don't worry, dude. Once there's not enough men to maintain the power grid (or functional police and firefighting services) 10 or 15 years from now after the Gen Xers start to retire, women will start to care very much about what it takes to motivate men to do stressful and/or dirty jobs. Concentrate on excellence and learning valuable skills to produce the goods and services that people need...it will pay off big time relatively soon.

My Husband is 38 and we met when he was 33. The reason why it took him so long to find a wife was because he had a very specific woman he was looking for. And that's not a bad thing. He told me once that he dated a woman in his 20's because she liked him and it made his coworkers jealous (she was apparently pretty attractive.) However, he knew that she wasn't the one and broke up with her after a few months. He stayed off of the dating scene for over 5 years and it got to the point where a lot of his family were thinking he was going to be single basically forever. I'm 9 years younger than him, but he is everything I wanted in my ideal man, and I'm everything he wanted in his ideal woman. The point I'm trying to make is that Mrs. Right will come around. Until she does, focusing on your self-care, career, and any other important factors are what you can do at this time. You're still young and have a lot of time. Just trust your gut instincts when you do meet a woman. Don't give up hope!

I was always taught when dating that you should have an A list and a B list. The A’s are the deal breakers you won’t compromise on (your faith, if you’re looking for marriage, how many children you want, quality person of high moral standing/excellent traits, where you want to live, how to raise your children, etc). Your B list consists of things lesser in importance more open to compromise (physical appearance, personality quirks, hobbies, and so on). No person is going to meet every bullet point on your dating preferences but if you can find one that checks all the A’s and be more flexible in your B category/have grace for that person, you might actually stand a chance at finding “the one”. ❤❤ PS- I would also like add (based on personal experience) that while it’s not impossible, conservatives and liberals generally do not mix.

At that point I said screw it, what do I even need a girlfriend for anyway? There's nothing a girl can do for me that I can't do myself or have a friend do. Generally, men like a drama free lifestyle and don't want to put up with women who makes creating drama, a lifestyle. And anyone (men or women) who are willing to put up with someone that consistently disrespects them, should seriously re-think/contemplate the future of their relationship. After being ignored time and time again, I just got used to the fact that most woman has a touch too high look on themselves. When a 7/10 thinks of herself as a 10/10 thats perfectly understandable. But when a 2/10 thinks that she is a 9/10? Nope! No matter how much makeup ugly is ugly. Now refreshingly in personality too.

Women don't seem to understand the way men rate them, and men don't understand how women rate them. And the reason this is a problem is because people seem to forget that who they are has to be attractive to the person they want to attract, not to themselves. A guy who wants a mild, sweet woman is going to have to be the guy that can alleviate her worries so she can stay mild and sweet. A woman who wants a strong, confident man can't be the kind of woman that is constantly tearing people down and needing validation. But the math is pretty simple. For the ladies: Men average the 1-10 score of your appearance and the 1-10 score of your personality in their personal estimation, not yours. Then they subtract 5 points if you are in the habit of seeking outside male attention and add maybe 1 or 2 points for having things in common with them. So, if you are actually a 10 in looks, but you are a 2 in personality (because you spend an awful lot of time talking down to him and gossiping but still call him 'cutie'), your base score is 6. If you then have an instagram where you post pictures designed to get likes, comments, and DMs from other guys (whether you answer them or not), he can reasonably assume that you could kick on the evolutionary force of hypergamy and ghost him for another guy who you think is better at any time, making his investments in you temporary and unending. This knocks your score from 6 to 1. Now, let's be very generous and say, "Yeah, but she likes Star Wars as much as I do," you could get bumped up to a 2. Maybe a 3, depending on how many Star Wars cons you attend. Conversely, if you are honestly a 6 in looks, and you treat him well enough to get an 8 in personality, your base score is a 7. If you aren't out getting validation from other guys, you stay a 7. And even if you don't like Star Wars at all, but aren't awful about it, you stay a 7. In this way, a hypergamous supermodel loses to a mid but decent girl as far as long-term. For the guys: There are two scales women use to rate men, like an x and a y coordinate, and it causes us the biggest confusion because the names of them seem like opposites. Women take a combination of your willingness to provide and invest in her, how good you make her look among her friends, and any one of a million tiny little details, and then subtract icks and attention you pay to other women. This sum is your Good Guy score. Then, take your skillsets (based on how useful they are to her) and your confidence in those skillsets (and willingness to use those skills on her behalf) and add those to your physical appearance and charm, and you get your Bad Boy score. You then use these to figure out where on the grid you land. The lower your Bad Boy score, the less attractive you are for romantic relationships. The lower your Good Guy score, the less attractive you are for long-term relationships. The friend zone is where man who maxes out the Good Guy score and has a low Bad Boy score lands, and this is where we get confused, because we men see good and bad as opposites. The Bad Boy she hooks up with has no Good Guy score, and she is attracted to him but gets her heart broken when she realizes she can't get him to raise his Good Guy score. If you have neither a Good Guy score or a Bad Boy score because you have done nothing with your life, you simply do not exist to her. You might as well live under a bridge. But, should you manage to max out both scores, you are Prince Charming. Prince Charming is the guy who treats her like a princess while using a wide variety of skills and charisma on her behalf, being physically attractive, and having the obvious but restrained ability to physically dominate threats. This breaks down for both into simple advice that has been parroted for generations. Women: Don't be difficult, and treat him nicely instead of as a disposable or replaceable income source. Men: Learn skills and develop self discipline and confidence, and ply those skills to provide for a woman you deem good enough to trust. Make sure your values align.

Good heavens is this reasonable! But, if I may: everyone tells men what they should do, and a list of what they shouldn't do is an extension of that. Instead, telling someone what matters to you is the best avenue. As you have so succinctly done with your list. You value God and morality, and value someone who is respectful. Those aren't icks at all; they are standards. Just make sure you are frequenting places where men value the same things, and you will have a much better time.

Religious people scare me about as bad as normal people. Normal people freak out about the most random things. Meanwhile….. Religious people (especially “Christian’s”), don’t even read the entire holy book that they swear to uphold and love. Heck… Christian’s won’t even admit that Jesus was brown and that Jesus wasn’t even his real name! Most of them won’t even admit that all of the same information that is in the King James Version of the Bible (which is incomplete by the way) is missing all of the information that was pertinent and was very well documented in the Ethiopian Bible…. If you “love God/the creator” then why are you unwilling to acknowledge the book of Enok? Better yet… Why are they so afraid of acknowledging that the Hindu texts and the Hebrew texts coincide with each other and tell they exact same story(the Hindu texts go into way more detail and oddly enough, mimic the Ethiopian Bible/ true Hebrew texts)? If you’re going to have requirements, make sure that you actually understand what it is that you’re requiring and what the reality of it is to begin with. Love thine neighbors as one would love time self. Also, always seek the whole truth by reading the entire document from beginning to end instead of jumping around from statements to statements.

As a woman who has been in and out of a few (at least 2) relationships, this “ICK” is completely foreign to me. I don’t have specific requirements. The only standard I need to be met is that they are kind, compassionate, willing to listen to me, and are able to accept when I do these things in return. Sure, I want to be held, sure I want to be spoiled, sure I love gifts, but I just as equally want to give as I want to be gifted. The only “ICK” I ever feel is for men with the existence of an ICK. Im a simple woman, and I’d like a simple man 🥰

I think one of the really big reasons for this is how romance is portrayed in media. Most movies with romance are about the couple getting together. They don't really address them actually being together. They don't show the characters having fights and making up in a healthy way. They don't allow the two in the couple to be imperfect. Afterall, they are "perfect" for each other aren't they? People come to expect their partner to be perfect, when they aren't perfect ourselves. The person that is right for them will be the person who they grow together with, not the person they have to be perfect for. I also think this trend doesn't really differentiate between icks. Some people have preferences sure, but are they seriously going to be dealbreakers? For me, as long as a guy has similar beliefs to me and treats me with respect, that's really all I'm looking for. Guys, I promise not all girls are like this. Don't give up hope.

I don't see how men would not give up. Every time I tell myself ''Meh, why not give it another chance?'' I end up utterly disappointed no matter how low my expectations were. I personally have higher standards for myself than I have for people around me. I don't go out often but women at work keep complimenting me to a point where I'm almost uncomfortable. I often notice women eyeing me up wherever I go and when I go on dates, they often ask me how tf I'm still single. I dated this girl from work not long ago and she was so into me, I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. I've never seen a woman so into a man in my entire life (besides for celebrity crushes), everything seemed to be going great, she even told everyone at work that we were seeing each other after our first date. Then she started getting distant, blaming the shit she was going through at that moment. She kept acting super interested though when we were together... Until I caught her with another guy. I don't mean to brag, really. But I'm in pretty good shape and women often like reminding me how they find me attractive and not just physically. Yet, I cannot find a sane woman who's not playing games and is also attractive. I usually check most of their boxes, but despite not having many myself, they can't check mine, let alone live up to their own delusional standards they hold me to. I feel like I cannot make a single ''mistake'' (at least what they deem to be) without them losing interest instantly. It's like as soon as you show a part of yourself or even remotely showing interest in them, they'll see it as a weakness and move on to one of the thousand guys they have lined up in their phone. It's a game you cannot win. You go up to a girl and ask her out, instead of seeing it like an act of courage, she will think that she's above you since you showed interest. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. So might as well just give up and save yourself the time, effort, money and embarrassment.

Call me traditional, but I wanna dress up nice, hop in my car, drive over to my woman's house for a scheduled date, see her come out in an amazing dress while I hold the car door open for her. Go to a nice fancy restaurant, I pay the bill, take her home and give her a goodnight kiss at the door before I leave. That to me is my ideal for dating. Every single one of those things I said I'd get attacked for in this day and age. "He's trying too hard" "He thinks I'm beneath him because he paid the bill/opened my door" "He's too much of a coward to end the night with just a kiss" None of that is true. My expectations are apparently too high, because I’ve never found a woman who can meet them. All I’ve ever wanted in a woman is someone who’s religious, not narcissistic, kind, wise, funny, has long hair, works hard to stay healthy and has some hobbies in common with me. Apparently that’s too much to ask for. 😞

I'm an 18 year old guy and yeah it's sad how almost no one in our peer group seems to have common sense anymore but whatever... i like to believe there's still a few rational people among us.

Well I don't know what ages and social circles we're talking about but I know many people like her. They're pretty easy to spot too

Maybe think about dating older guys who aren't infected with the woke mind virus.

I remember being a bit hesitant to date my husband when I realized he had a bit of a mouth (I don’t recall ever hearing a cuss word at home in my life) but decided to do it anyways. I’m very glad I did. Still has a sailor’s mouth, but is perfect for me in every way. There are certain qualities that should deter one from getting into a relationship with someone, but when you let every little thing you don’t do be a “red flag” then that’s an issue. I decided on a few major things I wasn’t willing to compromise and let the rest work itself out. I’m pregnant and having a baby with my husband so I’m going to assume things have worked well for me thus far.

no one is perfect. meaning when you find your soulmate, they're going to have things they do that you dont like but thats life. you get the good with the bad. its about balance. life is all about balance and right now there is none and its why everything is fugged up
