The thing is with guys like Mark, who come across as know-it-alls despite knowing nothing, they are often unwilling to take advice because they lack the humility to know they suck at something and need help. He honestly comes across as a cocky asshole, rather than someone who just lacks the social skills to get a girl interested in him. He seems like the type to suck forever with girls, and yet think it's either no big deal or it's their fault. People like that just need to either have someone who care about them give them a good talk so they can realize how stupid they are, or just need to keep batting 0 until they are ready to admit they need help leaving their incel island because they want kids or whatever. He not only doesn't seem like someone who sucks with girls, but just doesn't care to learn. Contrary to what the girls he talked to said, he didn't seem like a nice guy.

I watched 8 minutes of this show and I'm done. I can't take it anymore. On the other hand I get what Brett says. Nobody likes someone who is sorry for himself/herself. I mean you want someone who can support you. Someone so unhappy with his life will always need support. If there is something I can brag with is that I held hands with a girl. I can’t stand when people say there’s no higher power because if there is it doesn’t care about us or it’s cruel or why am I not rich? Why am I not getting what I want clearly, the higher power doesn’t care about me…. Did your parents when you were a child give you everything you want they give you ice cream for dinner because that’s what you wanted. That’s the whole point of a higher power. It knows better for you. What’s good for you and what isn’t and you just have to listen to it and follow it. It’s not cruel or evil just because you’re not getting everything you want in life.
@shaunp9592

Tell that to the little children and women who are beaten and raped. " Don't worry, god allows them to do that to you because it's better for you". There's a big difference between not giving people everything they want and being a real god who protects women and children. He's a "god", shouldn't have any problem at all preventing it if he actually "cared".
@nothinwatever
@nothinwatever Жыл бұрын
@@shaunp9592 god created free will it’s up to us to decide what you will chose to do with it I believe there is Devine plan for everyone and everything, just because someone doesn’t deserve this cruel treatment, which I agree no one DESERVES that but you need to be able to step back and look at the bigger picture. Take, for example a woman that’s raped, perhaps after that, happens to her she goes to the police and now this man finally gets arrested. Perhaps he’s raped dozens of other women before her, but none came forward and it took her (this one strong women) getting raped to be able to have that man put behind bars, and stop him from continuing to hurt other women. God knows what you can handle and are strong enough to endure. Just because things don’t play out in some magical fairy tale way doensnt mean it’s not happening for a reason and greater purpose. Maybe a mom was with an abusive partner, and it took her seeing him beat her children to finally leave that guy. And save her family. Other victims of abuse, usually end up becoming advocates and fighting for, and helping protect other people of abuse, and saving thousands of lives, which they would not be doing if it hadn’t happened to them selfs. Bad things happen for a reason whether you like it or not, and when you can step back and look at the bigger picture of where those negative experiences can lead to good experiences in life you will appreciate the divine higher power and plan he has set for all of us. Open your mind a little bit maybe.

It's almost second nature for him I'm sure. He probably doesn't even realize he' being so negative which isn't conducive for any communication unless if it's a group of similar minds. There was a time when I focused on the negative. The part that saved me was I am quiet and don't talk much. I'm a good listener in that respect. When I do answer I was also blunt and straight to the point. I do believe Mark needed to at least be a little bit more mindful and think through his responses. If you notice, he didn't answer the original question what brings him joy. He only focused on the opposite; things that doesn't bring him joy. That's one way to end the conversation which I get. I'm not really a people person being an introvert and rather be left alone. Maybe, he's the same in that respect? Do it long enough, and when you are in an uncomfortable position where interacting with someone is required, doesn't always go so well. I would say he doesn't need confidence. No, what he needs is a bit of practice and formula/structure to follow in communications. The confidence comes after you have a plan/strategy and have done it enough times to be comfortable repeating it. Could be simple as always having a neutral or positive answer of your own for questions you ask the other. The likelihood of the same question being reflected back at you is very high. I don't think he was prepared to answer his own question. I get that it's a spur of the moment, but he should probably have a list of questions on the ready with his own responses.

I rarely comment on videos like these, though I feel compelled to say that Brett's views on dating, feminism, and the current socio-political landscape feel very astute to a similar background and established values I find in myself and my own family. Things I very much find respectable. The thing that I really wanted to say is that confidence has always been touted as a very positive and desirable trait in men to women, and it really is such a fine line between confidence and arrogance. It is something I have expressed concerns to others about and tried to see their perspective. Is confidence in this context simply the ability to holds strong and uplifting belief in ones self and their abilities? Or is it about putting your best foot forward even to the extent of hiding your less appealing traits to provide the best appearance? I feel that current society spouts the first as the ideal, but in all honesty points to the second being more generally attractive. It's certainly something I feel something all men should consider and balance against their values, making sure that you are providing not only a strong belief in yourself, but a humbleness to know that we aren't perfect but are wanting to accept that and be more. That would be a man I respect more.

It's really easy for women to bash guys like him. Don't get me wrong, he is blunt. But, what areas do men have to actually get help in this? Either you have it or you don't. Also, once you are behind, it is near impossible to catch up as a guy because women 100% do not care. So once you're behind, you just keep falling. Then you get ruthlessly torn apart for it. That in itself justifies his negative view on the world of dating.

Example: Man: what do you like to eat? Woman: I like Asian food, like Thai or sushi. Man: I have the perfect place in mind, I'll pick you up at 08:00. Man: where do you want to go for dinner. Mark, rule number 1, have even a little bit of confidence. But not too much since that's called arrogance. Rule 2, never ask a girl about her age. Age is just a number, remember that. What's important is their attitude and how they talk. Btw confidence is very important. Even if you don't have any, fake it till you make it. Not in a lie your way out of it kind of way, but try to hide your insecurities, remember that you're there to meet people, you're there to be out of your comfort zone. So just be comfortable being out of your comfort zone once in a while, that will really help you meet people. That said, if you really are introverted then this kind of meetup isn't for you. Best to stick to chatting with a girl first then work your way up to meeting them personally. Btw that guy who did the joker impression sucked. He sounded more like Owen Wilson 😂

@27:00 It's weird how she sees this guys interactions and has formulated an entire persona for him with nothing else to go on. He was negative in the video sure but that doesn't mean he's not trying to better himself anywhere else in his life. He also never complained about his lack of experience with women. The people on the intercom chimed in with that information but he never brought it up and when it was forced to be the topic of conversation he was just honest and said he struggled with his interactions with women. Brett Cooper seems like the kind of person who would tell someone who is depressed that they should just 'snap out of it' and then pat themselves on the back for the great advice. Like sure, maybe if the guy just screams the word "confidence" it will materialize out of thin air and form around him like a suit of armor transforming him into the strong, confident, charming man that's worthy of a conservative woman screeching 'bootstrap' advice into a Shure SM7B. But, probably not.
