That plus my depression makes it super hard to shower, but I've never gone more than 4 days without a shower (and that was due to me waiting on a shower bag for my leg and my clothes from the laundry I put in before the accident). I work in lower elementary, we joke and laugh about student antics because in reality, their communications can be funny. In this situation, this young man is not bathing on purpose and peeing in bottles and storing them around his room on purpose. He is doing this for the sake of getting girls and that is something we'd probably talk about with concern, but we know that in many ways there's humor in these ridiculous fads that kids get into thanks to social media. As they say... Ass Armpits, Crotch and face... The main four places you need to maintain the most care with your hygiene. They have PH levels, they can easily fluxuate with hormones and activities. There's an extreme difference as well between BATHING and human pheromones. We do release them, but you dont have to be sweaty or unwashed... that's actually the opposite effect. If your pores are clogged with dirt and grime and sweat, you aren't allowing your healthy scents to come out... You're thinking deodorant. I work at home, my mother has cancer, I also take care of my dads pets. I don’t get out much because I’m tired, so then I don’t shower. The more I do, the more tired I am and the longer I put off leaving my house. I’m not proud, but I’ve gone 2 weeks without showering and finally looked at myself and realised I deserve better than I treat myself. Some times it’s hard and I know I should be ashamed. I am, but I know that I’m not the only one to have struggled and put everything else before my own well being. Parents obviously aren't great, don't have to explain that to anybody with a brain, everybody else uses you as comedic relief and disrespects you and belittles you on a constant basis or ignores you as to not deal with you. I'm gonna be honest here. Mental illness [having a panic-level phobia of water touching me at all] has led to me not showering for as long as 6 months in the past. You smell. A couple things people who aren’t able to clean themselves in or under running water, for whatever reason, can do to stay clean between showers are to dry brush the entire body to remove dead skin cells and use those no rinse body cleansing towelettes they sell at the drugstore. Dry shampoo can work really well in between washes depending on the brand. I think the dove brand one in the white can works pretty well.

There was a week were me and my buddy went drove twelve hours to his cabin in the middle of no where. We planned this trip for months. The main thing that kept us from going was the thought that us and our girlfriends weren't gonna wash for a whole week. The only reason we actually managed to finally take the trip was that we found a shower/pump thingy we could use to pump water to a tub through a filter and use soap to clean ourselves. Without that shower pump we would have never went.

Dang, like I don't like showers because of my Eczema forcing me to have painful showers since childhood and having that pain scar me when I touch water due to many open wounds covering my body, but even I shower. Just shower! Clean yourself! Icky man! It's scary before showering, painful when, and then it's doable. It's more a mental hurdle than anything, but Jesus Christ do people find weird excuses to just not shower. You don't have to be there for half an hour, like 10 minutes to clean yourself is more than enough.

Although it's physically doable, I still get immensely uncomfortable by the touch of water, so it's more a mental thingy. It gets really irritated, so I try and avoid a shower as much as possible, but still try and clean my body with soft wipes and such. My thin skin can be damaged easily and my immune system is also not the best, so I try and keep myself as clean as possible. It's really inconvenient, but it's far from an excuse to not take care of yourself

I shower every other day for this reason, simply washing my face with water (maybe it's the water being more harsh in my area) causes my skin to peel and turn red so quickly. I exfoliate often to scrub the skin off and I use my ointment afterwards to help calm my skin down, I also use coconut lotion and baby oil to lock in moisture. For some reason long steamy showers help my skin a lot, maybe it helps the dead peeling skin soften up so I can remove it easier but I'll always come out so much softer and smoother. I think the only excuse for not showering is a severe condition or having severe depression that makes you unable to do anything at all. Otherwise people should be showering, it's a privilege not everyone has and wasting it like that is just sad.

Hey man. My son has excema. We switched him to J.R, Watkins body wash for men. It's not actually marketed as body wash but as a moisturizer as well. They cut out all the bs and opted for things that are more natural and focus on moisturizing instead of exfoliating. His excema got way better and my Psoriasis almost completely disappeared. Might be worth a shot 🤷‍♂️

So, I went 8 years without having running water in my house and no transportation. It was not fun. It's true that you can't smell yourself much when you're in your house/room but as soon as you leave the front door you just... horrify yourself. Anyway, I'm so white that I've been joked about for looking at my bare arms putting peoples' eyes out. A couple of times my skin got so dirty that I really did turn brown like Peanuts' Pigpen and looked like I had vitiligo. My skin everywhere turned into a crust. If he's serious about this, there's no way he can sustain it. He'll get rashes so bad he'd bathe in a volcano to fix his skin.

this. when i think of pheromones, that's the unique scent of an individual when they have recently sweat or just existed for a day after a shower. but when sweat sits 12+ hours, the smell sours from bacteria and it is then just stanky. if you wanna smell like pheromones, you shower, then maybe a light workout (not a musky extreme workout where you drench in sweat), and that's it.

So I've been in my new apartment for close to ten years now. And for about six of those said years, I knew an elderly man who not only didn't keep his apartment clean, he absolutely refused to shower. Sure, he'd wash his hair and brush his teeth, but that was pretty much it. The body odor on this man was absolutely wretched and made me feel physically ill. The year he was finally sent to a nursing home or an assisted living place, his body odor had gotten so bad that I or anyone else could smell him not even halfway up the sidewalk to our mailboxes. So you always knew when he was sitting outside in his porch chair. Nice guy, but my goodness, his stench was HORRIBLE! Three years on, and I still haven't forgotten it, but I genuinely hope he's doing better now. I can usually go about two or three days before I start to look and smell dirty, though I'll gladly shower sooner if the circumstances call for it. But going any longer than my usual? Absolutely not! How anyone can stand to go without washing for weeks, months or even years on end, and be so blind to how it affects them and everyone around them is beyond me. If you have a documented medical condition that causes this or an allergic reaction to water, or you're homeless and don't have easy access, I sympathize and I hope you find a solution soon. Otherwise, quit being lazy and gross and get in the shower, people. I promise, you will not only smell better, you'll FEEL better! This goes for keeping your living space clean as well.
