@@OG_Bearcat It's like watching the cray cray of ridiculousness. Don't worry MTV you will never get a video from me , and you will not catch me in NYC again. I shower outside, 💩 outside, yep hurricane took my bathroom. So what ! It cost me ~$100 a month utilities to live here . 2 min away from everything. I caught a 5+lb catfish 2 min from my house? Got a bunny in my yard . For the most part it's quite. Neighbor across the street has a gang of dogs they bark plenty but only when he sets them out. I could file a complaint but I don't. Oh Wow! I never thought I’d see my old neighborhood. That’s SOUTH SLOPE! Right by the beautiful GreenWood Cemetery. There’s a couple solid food spots but its mainly on the edge of gentrification so its touch and go where you go plus you missed the part where the BQE is 100ft from the apartment. However, nice to FINALLY see inside this building after parking there for 4 years…

Nice apartment for a family. I actually had locks that could be opened with a key when my children were small because two of them had a bad habit of locking themselves in rooms and that meant they were up to mischief. (like using a whole bottle of my perfume or eating everyone's Easter candy and getting sick) Price tag not too bad for a four bedroom in a great neighborhood.

I've seen a lot of apartments on your channel that the landlord has chopped up into rooms that are almost to small to be useful, this one is not that bad. While I'm against that type of apartment mutilation I will say the landlord has done a good job with this one. What I would change is turn that small bedroom with the tiny sink bathroom into an office space and turn the bathroom into an in unit laundry room. It is a more practical use of space and he would still get the same rent he is charging.

I appreciate your quick youthful enthusiasm for the nyc residential odd spots. I lived during mid 70s in a 93rd , 2nd Ave walking up tenement with toilet in the hall, tub in the kitchen and gas lights , had to have been from 1850s. In the foresthills inn 1980s while a coop a resident owner discovered past a closet wall a staircase up1 flight lead to a abandoned dormitory room for hotel staff. He was allocated some 20 additional shares and additional maintenance costs. Thr room became a jazz borbon lounge for locals the air of mystery set a great mood.

I grew up in a teeny tiny town in VT and its beauty is so imprinted in my memory. I had a forest for my backyard, no siblings, and hippie parents whom let me roam free (and I did- exploring an abandoned red barn with its newborn kittens and sweet smell of hay, making "peppermint tea" on tree stumps, and swimming in the brook next to the house even if it meant picking leeches off of my legs afterwards.) I envy your mountain forest, but I also understand how the city life is a curiosity with all of its hustle and bustle.

Yeah NYC film rules are weird (but honestly one of the best in the country). You can pretty much film anywhere public including inside the subway as long as it’s not on a tripod. The moment you’ve got a tripod, lights, or other “ancillary equipment” I believe it’s considered professional camera equipment and you gotta get a permit.

The view on top is awesome. And the size/price of the flat is perfect for a frat house. The rooms are all nice and wide and the individual bathrooms are perfect, even the smallest room with one window and tiny bathroom works nice. I can't get over how excited you get looking at these apartments man. There is no way, NO WAY, I would pay 5,500 a month for that. I get it, it's new york, but you know what 5,500 gets you any where else? Here in Michigan 5,500 gets you a literal mansion (if you can find one to rent) probably a pool. View of Lake Michigan. The world is yours for 5,500. Nah lets spend insane money to be cramped in a tiny apartment and fake freak out over how "Massive" the common area is. Not trying to talk trash it's just insane.
@Mac_Omegaly
@Mac_Omegaly 2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. Scenic beauty is avalible for just over 10% of that price per month here in Wisconsin. And some places for $750 will include fairly expensive heating in the cost. And with a semi-decent and clean public transit system. *(It's nothing like London, England or New York City... But at least it's an option.) While I opted for a cheaper apartment with function over features. At $500/month I snagged a second floor apartment mod on a house. While the landlady lives downstairs is able to inspect on a moment's notice, it's super covenant for complaints and repairs. While rates in the area have gone up, she has kept my rent on a tiny increase year on year. So that $500/month covers electricity under a particular wattage used, heating and cooling included *(although it's one singular central air system so I have no control.) I get a small kitchen and small but full bathroom, a living/ entertainment room and a bedroom, for less then 10% of that place.

This is a nice apartment. My question is do they make the rents so high with the expectation that it's going to be people really wanting to rent a room because they are in school or something? These rents are astronomical, I don't care how nice they are if a family or single person or couple wanted these places they either have to be making a lot of money with one job or have multiple jobs which doesn't leave much time for family.

People rent rooms cause it's all they can afford in NYC. Generally most people would prefer to have their own but cant afford it. Nyc is not a good place to live if you want family time or your own apartment. You'd be better off moving to a more affordable state. Thats what i did.

That small house! I wonder if it was a converted garage at some point. I know they used to have small bungalow homes in the rockaways but almost all of them were torn down decades ago for "urban renewal" that never happened so now is all blocks & blocks of empty land

NYC's real estate will remain relevant under one of these two conditions. Office work is coming back to full swing which I don't think will happen anytime soon. Remote work is becoming the norm. People want to live in NYC as if it's a gigantic urban sprawl with everything at your fingertips. This being said, after staring out the window and seeing mountains and a river with a one-mile main street nearby, I'm contemplating if I still want to live in NYC where I only see buildings and the concrete jungle. It's mother nature vs human grittiness.

@@Agent2090 We have apartments here in Beacon going for at least half a million. Stare out from a balcony and you see the scenic mountains and the Hudson River. 90 minutes if you ever need to head down to NYC but I have been doing it less and less. Contrast with the expensive apartments in the city where you look out and it just building after building.

I like the idea of living in a city with street food, public transit, don't need to rely on cars to even go to the store, close knit, etc. However, I will never be able to live in the city because I like my privacy too much and the feeling of sitting on my front porch at 11pm and just having no sounds of anything other than insects/animals and the occasional car passing by in the distance every few minutes. It's peaceful.

Bay Ridge is south of 60th Street-ish. That tiny house on the big set back… I’m pretty sure the owners just rent the whole thing out, but it’s like a loft inside.
