Once Steam OS 3.0 and RDNA iGPUs drop for desktop, I’m building a super SFF with room for a low profile GPU. Steam Deck got me tweaking 🤪 Been fun squeezing power outta that thing. More than setting things to Max(Ultra) on the old desktop tbh 🤙🏽
@MushroomDev2 жыл бұрын
you could do this build a lot cheaper. The " G" series ryzen cpus can only do pci gen 3. So you can use a b450 motherboard without losing performance at a lower cost. you can also go for a 6 core processor since a card like the 1660 is the bottleneck anyway. It will be easier to cool and again cheaper.

What's the exact model of the PSU you've used in this system ?
@thelastsoulllll2 жыл бұрын
Even after excluded the GPU because this built already using APU, the rough estimate price of this built is still around 1100 USD, Is it possible to get the same from factor and performance or at least closets to this with a budgets around 300-600 USD with brand-new parts and no over-clocking/tweaking ?
@DFX2KX2 жыл бұрын
Not quite this small, no. The specialized PSUs cost a fortune, and everything in this case size that's cheap uses low-profile GPUs, which tend to have slim pickings anyway.
@DigitalJedi2 жыл бұрын
You can't go this small but if you are willing to go last-gen (not used, just older stock) you can still work with a decent budget. You might want to go used for the GPU though, as new cards still have some price inflation happening, but the used market is calming down nicely.
@thelastsoulllll2 жыл бұрын
@@DigitalJedi here's the problem, I'm not in US(that's why i said "rough estimate") in my country buying used electronic are about 70% of them is scheme. and I'm not computer expert so tweaking/over-clocking it out of question
@johnbuscher2 жыл бұрын
Brand-new, basically no. There’s very few cheap ITX AM4 Boards right now, and any specialized PSU will be way more money than is strictly necessary. You’re paying for the convenience of it being small. You can still have a “sff” build in the NR200 (if that’s available), but will still be using most of the same parts anyhow. Probably $400 just for motherboard and CPU alone (, then need $80 for RAM, need some storage, and you’re already somewhere between $550 and $600, not including the cost of the cooler. If you wanted to really cut corners, there is an $80 AM4 ITX board on Amazon by Gigabyte but I really don’t like skimping out on motherboards, since it’s providing power and data to a lot of different things. If you go for that and even a 5600G ($210 is cheapest in the US right now), it’s $300 + the aforementioned RAM and Storage for about $150-$200 more depending on what you bought, so you’re at $450-$500 which lets you slot into a case but PSU will put you over budget. The case is probably the cheapest part but going to a different case to use an SFX PSU will still cost more than just grabbing any old ATX desktop case and going for a cheaper PSU. Even then, don’t cheap out on the PSU. It literally keeps your system alive. So you’d be well over budget for anything new and current gen. You may be able to get last generation APUs for a bit of a discount to save even more money and get everything close to that, and you still need to buy a cooler, which will probably be $30-$50 to fit in this kind of case.

The Ryzen 7 5700G CPU runs GREAT with a slight overclock! I have mine paired with an Asus Phoenix RTX 3060 V2 with 12Gb of DDR6 RAM and runs excellent @1080p with almost all ULTRA settings! As a casual gamer this is a really good setup as I do not need 400fps playing ANY game. Best thing here is the TDP is ONLY 65watts for the CPU! Not 105 or even 200+ TDP Intel offers and can be air-cooled all day long! I upgraded to Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB x 2 at 16Gb for 32Gb total for CAD reasons running at 3600Mhz C18 which required a little tuning to get the best performance and runs great as well once "tuned". Now that the AM4 socket is "dead" I may upgrade my CPU just to keep my system "relevant" for the next 2years and will be MUCH cheaper than upgrading to the AM5 socket and DDR5 at this time.
