It is kinda wild to me that backline players actually doing something before 30 minutes is rare enough to be remarked on as a novel strategy >.>

It's a symptom of AFUS spam being so temptingly powerful. Notice how immaculately efficient and well practiced he had to be at doing his assist role, and the match was still 35 mins long. Had anyone else done the same strategy slightly worse, it could have honestly gone the other way. The last time I tried something like this, we had a good first 25 min and nearly won, took out half their players, but then the enemy eco players came online and just drowned us in T3. Personally I feel like the game needs to tune down AFUS farming to encourage more play like this, and not require it to be some high skill colab strat to be successful.

@@UnknownSquid That's totally fair. I think for me, a lot of people just don't know how to leverage spam-aggression. This game *could* have ended so quickly if besides all the long-range siege that was dumb-firing into nothing, if literally anyone started a tick spam or two for either side of the isthmus. Give line-of-sight vision for your artillery, and keep the actual pressure up. There was so much wasted time this game with Ambassadors, Mauser and Starlights doing literally nothing but hitting the ground.

One of the issues i have with taking the front position in this map and similar situations is often enough the experience that those behind then, while using you at a shield often enough do not contribute to holding the line as much as needed. In that aspect, the support player here did an excelent job beefing up the economy of at least one of the frontline players and before that helping to tech for the other player to gain that early t2 eco going. In terms of effeciency and effective gameplay this was top notch.

I'm happy to see Glass' strat. I come from the age of empires series, where giving resources to allies is taxed on 30% and even so tournaments usually ban strats which include giving resources to allies before the late game. If ChickenLips properly used the mausers he got so early, Red's frontline would be dead by minute 10, completely razed to the ground. The snowball would ensue even further and the match prob wouldn't last more than 15 min. Beyond that, if proper E production and BP, I wonder which early t2 strats could hit the field. As we've seen on the strait tournament, an early Tzar can do wonders, specially now at Isthmus due to the gained positional advantage not only on the 4.3m mexes (which would be 17m mexes as T2) but the geos. Man... one can go far with this.

Always have been wondering if this is a better way to share T2. Same logic as saving the building the lab, if they are just going to upgrade the mex, why not do it yourself and save them that eco drain too?

For front players in particular, it can be really helpful. Avoids them needing to go through that long vulnerable upgrade period where they can't produce units. You do still have to be wary of getting out eco'd by an eco speed runner though. If your team doesn't fully capitalise on the early advantage you give them, the match can turn around on you surprisingly quickly when "AFUS4Lyfe69" decides he's ran out of meat shields and it's time to join the game.

I'm always confused why so few players use stealth on these replays. Ambassadors are a great example, it never shows up on radar so it makes a great counter battery. Likewise a jammer bot with some welders is a nightmare for artillery. The lightning effect will cause a ton of surround damage and mop them up quickly.

No but you're right about Seton's. I'll give a brief explanation: Total Annihilation is a game that came out a long time ago. This game (Beyond All Reason) is a modern re-creation of Total Annihilation, and more specifically of a player-made mod of Total Annihilation called Balanced Annihilation (hence why BAR originally stood for Balanced Annihilation Remastered). Supreme Commander is a game that came out much more recently than Total Annihilation, and is made by the creator of TA. BAR is open-source and made by volunteers who like RTS games. This map IS Seton's Clutch but adapted to BAR's gameplay (which is why it's so much smaller than the OG Seton's).
