They miss their parents who left home to work overseas so they can survive and have a better future. They appreciate that a lot but miss them so much at the same time!

Well good morning to you too haha. what a great way to start the morning with one of my fave songs from ALAMAT. I am so happy you paid attention to the lyrics and the meaning of the song. I relate to this so much because my parents are OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers), They left and decided to stay there and eventually took all my older siblings and migrated overseas. I was still in college at the time so I could not go with them. I was left to my grandmother. By the time I graduated I already have a nice career path going for me so I still opted to stay here. They visit from time to time but it still hard when your family is not around you growing up and until now. But then again this was also my choice to alse take care of my grandparents. Both are in heaven now ♥️ My parent are very hard workers and we did grew up not worrying about anything. A very comfortable life but the price is not having your parents with you. So yeah it is a real sacrifice to the parents but also to the children left behind. This is a very common situation in Filipino families so I am very happy that ALAMAT did this. Also, Ili Ili (the right spelling of the word I think) is a Lullaby sung to children before bed.

Why is that everytime I see you, I always thought you're a Filipino Sis.. 😂 Are you a Mexican, Sis? Because if it is then we are cousins. 😂 Because, Filipino and Mexicans have Spanish blood due to colonialism. 🤓

Some Filipinos and Mexicans could actually be related because of the Galleon trade. There were Mexican settlements in the Philippines and vice versa. 😁

@@kayceefuimaono Oh, cool! At first, I thought you were Indonesian! Filipinos come from the Malayo-Polynesian race.. so we're basically related!
