I forgot to post this last year, but I want to give a HUGE shoutout to The Sword in the Stone, the shop that ran the event. I played in the tournament last year and it was my first major cedh tournament. I didn’t understand the proxy policy when I signed up and had about 30 mdfc proxies when the max is 10. When we were deck checked, I was given 10 minutes to find 20 cards to replace. The shop owner had a Vilis deck that was extremely similar to my K’riik deck and let me borrow almost every missing card and I went on to actually make top 16 thanks to him. Incredibly gracious of him and I could not be more impressed with a staff overall. While it was my first cedh event, it was not my first time in the competitive card game scene, I had been a competitive YGO player for a decade and never saw anywhere near the level of service I saw from The Sword in the Stone.

Lack of thassa's Oracle in the master of keys list shocks me. I don't think i have seen any list on the master of keys Discord that didn't run Thassa's oracle.

You don’t need it. Both Consult and Thoracle are bad cards when you don’t have the other. Control decks don’t want dead draws. All of the combo pieces I run serve other purposes when I’m not going for the win.

tinybones joins up is also part of the intuition line in Master of Keys. you go abdel adrian, animate dead/necromancy, and tinybones joins up. they give you abdel adrian. on your turn escape tinybones joins up targeting everyone, pitch abdel, escape animate dead effect target abdel, win. ideally you just use intuition defensively and make them give you a counterspell though

Chthonian Nightmare + Priest of Gix + Orcish Bowmasters = infinite pings. Any one of those (or Sevinnes) + Intuition gives you the loop in play.

I think this top16 results reflect that adnaus piles are worse now that they lost their 2 best mana cards. one prediction I'm happy I got right is that smothering tithe is much more popular now, which in turn makes cards like steal enchantment much better

Meta needs more krark-si😈 10-3-3 on the list post bans in 56+ mans. Grixis in general is in such a good spot, specifically the midrange grixis lists. Turbo seemed crazy strong at first, but rog-si is a one trick pony, and pretty easy to hate out early

@@UnhappySalesman Displacer Kitten on field, gix or any level 3 creature with the other in gy. Cast Chthonian nightmare, kitten trigger to flicker gix, create 3 black mana. Activate CN to sac gix, bring back whatever creature. Recast CN for 2 black leaving 1 black floating. Kitten trigger doesn’t matter but you get another one here. CN sac creature for gix, add 3 black, now you’re at 4 black floating. So on and so forth. Each cycle nets you 2 black mana because a cycle requires 4 mana to sustain itself but you’re making 6.

It’s not the most efficient combo considering how many cards it takes but his deck had like 30+ creatures so the extra creature part is free. So really only a 3 card combo. My guess is he chose to run it because it also is infinite ETBs which is one of his win cons and doesn’t require his commander.

I'm trying to build a variant of dawnwaker as well, and I thougt about cutting derevi and include birthing pod lines. Because with pestermite/deceiver exarch you can chain up to kiki from your thrasios, while still being able to combo off with your emiel + cradle + Deceiver exarch/pestermite. Really like the look of the new meta ngl
