they're the same people who cry about elo hell being real and holding them back - when in reality they just fail to take control over their own games (due to lack of skill) and survive on pure copium by blaming others or looking for external factors to contribute their own shortcomings onto. Sadly it's human nature for a majority of people, hence why the "top 1 %" in anything is always kinda frowned upon in general because most people just have a fundamental flaw in their own mindsets and approach to whatever they pursue in life. They want to feel like they deserve being good, but they don't want to acknowledge they themselves just aren't putting in the required effort, and think others have it easier than themselves.

@Real_MisterSir
@Real_MisterSir Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, though that's just a finer mechanical skill detail that will come with time. The important part is learning the fundamental playstyle that allows for targets to consistently get within melee range - then it's just a matter of practicing that skillset to capitalize on it. And you can even see how SVB got a lot more confident even with blink melees in the end when he started to truly get into the flow. Not like crazy, but you can see the baseline is there already, just needs more practice for trust in consistency and accuracy.

@mimthyss

@@ajallen212if you watch any of Awkward's content at all you will understand that "counter-picking" and "throw picks" are a load of rubbish for anyone who isn't playing in like, top 100. Because you can always outskill other players, it doesn't matter what hero you both play. E.g., a bronze widow is never going to beat even a diamond+ pharah just because she's hitscan and that "counters" pharah - the pharah player themself is inherently better so they win. There's no point swapping all the time because then you learn nothing. You should watch his vids, he explains and demonstrates in much better, and he's rank 1 so pretty sure the advice is sound lol

I had a game where a mercy and bastion weren’t playing. They were being “nice” I called them out and the whole sever went against me and refuse to end the game. Calling me trash and targeting me all bc I wanted to play the actual game. It was quick play but still not an excuse to not play, and act like that, Is not a custom game. I didn’t want to leave bc I was doing the battle pass and I would’ve got a penalty. I leave games like those and games when I find the game boring when is unplayable. Also bc of pride, I knew they would all laugh if I did leave.

You’re arguing for the sake of arguing, like pls shut up, you brought up the stupidest takes. Its good and bad I'll often see moiras or ana's not heal when needed cause they go out of their depth and don't stabilize when needed. In quickplay it isn't that big a deal but in comp you should try to understand when to reel it back for a moment. If you miss the shot on sym its fine to try again but not at the cost of your tanks life. Like if you go main healer like bap or ana I as the other support expect you to prioritize tank while I prioritize helping our squishies.

Awkward's take on how to play tracer feel like the exact opposite of A10's, it's very interesting
@hertebeest
@hertebeest Жыл бұрын
I agree, they both have very different ways of explaining what to do on tracer. If you look at the practical application of either teachings however it basically says the same thing. Off angle, as little downtime as possible, exploit recall to go agressive and generally be a distraction/nuisance to the enemy team. A10 might have a more refined way of putting it, I feel like both playstyles have alot of similarities though.
@Real_MisterSir
@Real_MisterSir Жыл бұрын
I think the approach is the opposite, but what is actually taught -the end goal, is actually very similar. They both focus on managing cooldowns, space, cover. Awkward's way of teaching is throwing you into the fire and learning through hard punishment when you fail, and great achievement when you succeed. Forcing you to constantly be active, always looking for value and opportunities, forces you to constantly think about how you use your abilities, cooldowns, and pathing to prioritize what value you are looking to achieve, and how impactful your value/resource ratio is at any given moment. A10 also teaches you the exact same things, but from a slow and methodical approach where you practice each part individually step by step. So I wouldn't say the take is necessarily different, only the coaching style is. Ultimately, you will end up with the same value set regardless of whose advices you follow, it's just the means of how you get there.

Akward is actually better coach here then in his guide. -Key to being good tracer is to constantly deal damage from flank while staying in cover and not taking damage. Even if you deal like 20 damage you are actually making space while also distracting their backline. -You only go full aggro when squishy is out of position or any target falls below 50 hp except tank with cooldowns (Fortify, adaptive shield, nemesis...) -always do blink melee in a fight it actually makes you reload faster. -don't blink melee without recall, you may die and its not worth it most of the time. -Pay attention to enemy cooldowns. -If you go against hitscan short strafe left to right and back, BUT if you go against projectile strafe to one side while tapping crouch. -if you get frustrated stop playing or switch to Torb, frustrated tracer is worse then 4v5. -Some games are unwinable, accept that and learn that some games are also unwinable for opponent. -Rank doesn't matter, play for fun.

The thing here is, both of them are coaching fundamentals, but approaching from 2 sides. Ultimately, what ends up defining your skill as you progress, is how well you implement them into your core gameplay foundation and can switch in a split second between the two. That's where a true form of playstyle emerges, when you apply the part of your fundamentals that best suit the individual situation and your general skillset as a player. In reality they're both covering the same topic, but their approaches are different. Awkward teaches about learning by doing, throwing you into the frying pan, forcing you to learn what good cooldown management is because the situations he forces you to play in demand that you use your cooldowns properly. A10 is more theoretical, learn the cooldowns and potential first, then experience how to apply them step by step. I do appreciate both styles of coaching, and depending on whether you're a very hands-on type of person, or someone who is more methodical, either style could fit better.

Always nice how pleasant the replies are in svb content. I personally like the logic and clear explanation that A10 gives, but why not throw a nade and sleep during the pre fight as awkward insists. Awkward's spacing and rotations are so good, and A10 off angles and times his engages so well that he plows through the enemy and they don't even look at him. Something to gain from both, and I appreciate ppl trying to help those that want it.

Not keeping sleep for threats? Not keeping the nade unless you have a clear chance? AND IT WORKS? And then another huge thing is, in my mind i'm always trying to regroup first. I don't want to die and force my team to 4v5. I'm scared of dying, when really, as im seeing in both of these videos, you can apply pressure/damage/make space before the team is there depending on the situation & it's all about the game sense of knowing when to pull back out.

It would be so cool to have a coach like this. I do know of a few former players who had the same main as me, but not close enough to ask them. Maybe I should offer to pay? How much for a Diamond coaching a Silver?

The best way to learn how to play a dive character like tracer is to be aggressive. Get used to being in their face and you'll learn quickly what you can get away with and what gets you killed. If youre doing your job the enemy team will have to address you or they'll lose almost every team fight.

well, the guy is learning and all that jazz, but to be honest, he wasnt playing that good, and people who play ranked and actually want to rank up are not gonna apreciate the fact that some teammate is actually a gm trying to level up yet another account with yet another hero and is willing to lose a game just because is trying to one trick.
@insecticaa

@@Kat-xp8zn But if you go to report there aren’t any options for reporting for refusing to switch. One-tricks are really annoying but it doesn’t make sense to report someone for playing badly unless they’re reallyyy throwing, not to mention he’s not playing so bad to warrant a report. Just avoid.

Havent played ow since ow1. Decided to play some ranked and place on tank (i used to be a tank main). I was carrying hard on zarya one game and my genji was constantly overextending and although he was polite saying sorry about that, both of my bubbles would go to him and i would just play around corners and still get kills and win fights on my own. We lost and when the game ended he said we didnt win because i never followed up the space he never created. Theres no way he looks at his vod and thinks he's actually carrying the game lol when i had double his stats and half his deaths. Theres always someone complaining instead of just holding their weight and its so annoying

cover, angles, target priority, exposing yourself to more than one person at a time, playing in predictable sight lines, overcommitting when you shouldn't, undercommitting when you shouldn't... Trust me, I know the feeling you have and I experience that in random ass plat level QP lobbies all the time when I just play casually and don't put too much emphasis on minding these factors. Play faster, be in and out of cover quicker, use natural obstacles and cover as much as possible and make use of good a-d strafing. You can control these outcomes far more than you may think, but it requires a lot of mental effort to begin with until it becomes second nature.

@@MansterBear Ashe is such an obnoxious counter lol, her 1-hit headshot from random flicks across the screen suck so much. The key against her (and just in general), is to simply always fight close to cover - not so you can reach cover easily, but so that you physically don't extend your own hitbox far from said cover in the first place. If you look back at your replays, I bet most of those headshots were done on you when you were out in the open with your full head hitbox exposed with no cover to jiggle-peek from while shooting. People can often neglect jiggle-peeking and playing super close to cover because the game is so fast paced and most enemies can't reliably dink you in the head (especially on Tracer) even when you're in the open - but the few times you come across players who are skilled enough to do it, suddenly you realize how much of a risk you're putting yourself into, often needlessly simply because you rarely get punished for it so it doesn't feel like a mistake. Watch high level masters and gm Tracers, they jiggle-peek shoot from corners for this exact reason all the time. It's an easy 50% increase in your chance of surviving a good hit from an enemy like Ashe, if your head hitbox half the time is partially or fully covered by a wall.

@@Real_MisterSir Yea, it was the last point of Blizzard world. We were pushing, they were defending. The cart/team fight was entering the last building so she was standing over at the main path into the building before the first corner. (right in front of the area where u can fall off the map). I was coming from the arches that would be to their right on defense. I also probably stayed there too long. I was attempting to use the arch way walls as cover but I was likely standing a few feet away from them thinking "i'm 1 blink from cover"... but you're probably right. I should have shot from there like once, then blinked left and came more from behind up that path beside the fall off, then maybe blinked back to the right side main, etc. I'll try to focus on fixing the things you pointed out. Thank u! I used to never play DPS, and even though my individual performance was usually "decent" I was hard stuck low bronze. Since watching Awkward's video I've mainly used Tracer, and have climbed to Silver 4 or 5(don't remember right now) over the past few weeks. So I am improving, but definitely want to continue ranking up and be able to carry more. Nothing is more frustrating then when I go lead the lobby in kills, least deaths, and feel I played really well, but still lose. The more I can carry, the less I have to deal with that lol. That's most of the reason I enjoy tracer so much. I don't have to worry about getting healed, or my tank creating space, etc. It's pretty much all on me and my performance, which I prefer. My biggest challenge other than that 1 Ashe is dealing with Torb turrets. For now, I think the right move is to full blink in with recall and try to 1 clip it and recall out, then I can play like normal after that. Is that the best strategy to deal with torb turret?
