This sounds like an amazing upgrade to the mode but instead all Nadeo does is copy paste and not innovate further :(

Okay wait here’s how I could see this mode coming back: You do a qualifier test to get an idea of what div you’d be in a COTD. This does not limit your selections but it allows you to know like… if you’re Div 12 you shouldn’t select Div 1 thinking you’re going to make it past the first round EVER. You still COULD select it, but it would be brutal. Or you select a few players like maybe the bottom 16 players on Div 1 and you just try to beat their times on the track without ever being in last place. I think that would allow the mode to be fun for ALL skill levels which I think is a big issue currently. The top players get all the ATs on a new campaign in less than 2 hours but new players struggle to get golds on some of the maps. Making the mode this way would mean anybody at any skill can give themselves a fair challenge to level themselves up and see smaller improvements. Like going from gold to AT you might see small improvements here and there but it doesn’t feel like you’ve “accomplished” your goal until you HIT the AT. Missing the AT by a hundredth isn’t, “Oh boy! I improved my time!” it’s, “FAK I MISSED!!!!” So if you have a game mode where you can select a completely variable skill level to play, everybody if all skills can have a fun challenge.

Definitely solid alternatives/upgrades to this game mode! I hope whenever or if Nadeo thinks of bringing these more niche game modes to TM2020 they will innovate a bit more instead of blatantly copy pasting it like they did so far with Stunt/Platform

Stunt mode is definitely not for everyone, but there is a stunt community, that is actually enjoying it. Some of the known names are there too. I don't know anything about tm2020 stunt mode tho

Stunt mode is hands down the best mode in TMSX, next to Extreme Races. I still have TMSX installed and still hop into the stunt tracks once in awhile

Yeah I know every part of the game has their own communities which is always amazing to see! Thats whats great about TrackMania, a player can like one thing but other players hate it and then you can still play the game and do the things you enjoy doing. Personally I just don't find stunt attractive enough to spend time on so I can skip it and play all the other modes I like. It's truly the beauty of TrackMania

Oh wait. So you each round you need to beat the slowest of Hylis's ghosts and if you are, this slowest one will out and be replaced to your ghost from that run until you beat all of them. Feels kinda like "offline" COTD.

I don't like island car too, but the environment is cool. Especially united forever star edition it feels less 2d. My mail to santa, that will never come true would be a new block update on united with a crazy survival mode (mix of both) and just like in star edition, maps are designed by the community. Fantasizing about this alone makes me want to dig up my laptop out of the basement and boot up united

Imagine they update TM2020 with new environments and a remastered Island/Coast/Lagoon/Valley combo environment - that'd be my dream. The Lagoon tileset is beautiful, imagine that level of detail for Island..

Imo, the worst mode in TMSX. So boring. Although Stunt mode is probably the best mode in TMSX, and the Island car is hands down the best car in Trackmania history

Honestly Sunrise probably has the strongest trio of cars in the series, followed by TM² and then original. Hey, personal ranking time! Bay > Island > Canyon > Stadium > Valley > Coast > Lagoon > Snow > Desert > Rally (I very much dislike Stadium having become the defacto standard and only focus :( )

Well, to be fair, Royal was really popular when it came out and had a big Fanbase until Nando stopped caring about it and left it at its core. Platform in TM2020 has its flaws because of the ridiculously hard maps, unbalanced ATs and the missing Timer for Leaderboards. But Platform is basically RPG/Trial which also has one of the biggest communities in TM since TMNF basically. The other modes would be better if they weren't that RNG heavy.

Doesn't help the menus in TM2020 are so inexcusably dogshit that they are terrible to find, not to mention Stunt just sucks and Platform is a meme
