not really. had their deaths not happened to get the pillar of autumn free, all of humanity would be dead and the great journey would've been successful. no death on reach was for nothing.

the hill i will die on is that tthe spartan 3s were never on reach, they didnt know ANY spartan 2s besides kurt, the only living ones are in their early teens, and those said living ones are in a forunner limbo land after their battle on Onyx.
