I think the Thundurus Tera'd due to a misunderstanding of the Dark passive effect. They might've thought that Dark protected them from status, when it was just from Prankster.

Im sure he does exactly that, probably plays 5-10 games and picks the most interesting ones. Ive run into the *exact same team* 3-5x in a row many times. high ladder isnt filled with the most creative teambuilding sadly (oh look, REELABOOM....AGAIN)

I make VGC content for KZbin and tbh, most Poketubers upload their best matches, not consecutive ones. I obviously can't speak for everyone, including James, but a lot of us do that as it generates more engagement. I like to think that Cybortron, ThatsAPlusOne, and Jeans might actually upload their matches consecutively as I've seen them lose multiple times on their channel (Pretty sure Jeans might have a video or two where he loses three of his matches 😅) For me personally, I'll only remove a loss from my final video if I lost strictly due to RNG. Otherwise, I upload my losses as it's important for viewers to know both the strengths and weaknesses of the team I'm featuring. Hope this helps!

If you're trying to showcase a team, it's pretty risky just to take the first 3 random battles you find and put all your hope on them turning out good. If you're running a cool tech to beat Calyrex you might run into 2 Zamazenta's and a Lunala, but that doesn't mean that having a Calyrex counter isn't relevant in the current meta, nor does it help the viewer understand how the team works when you do face the Calyrex matchup. There's lots of things like this that can happen in Pokemon, so if you only have time in the video for 3 games it's generally better to display how the team works in "normal" situations rather than uploading a battle where you miss every 95% move and then get crit. The viewer probably can figure out what the game's going to look like if that happens on their own.
