Logically, I assume this has something to do with purifying yourself for prayer. Permanent hair dye penetrates the hair shaft, and black is the most shampoo resistant of them all. It also easily stains the skin. Similar to the rule with nail polish - water wouldn’t be able to penetrate and cleanse that part of your body. Lighter dyes likely wouldn’t cause the same issue, hence the ruling only for black hair dye.

I dont think this makes sense because the talk is about black henna and not permanent hair dye, i think the most logical answer would be that the black color could be deceiving, as in someone with bad intent can try to look younger. Age in those days were not as obvious as these days with computers, alot of people didnt have there age dated or shared. Point 2 is that it could be that people whom die there hair jet black are usually the weird people ABCD community, much like how these days people whom call themselfs 'Emo or Emos' usually paint there hair black

if you look at history, black hair dye or black henna which was used to dye hair black has now been found to have such harsh chemicals that can cause scarring amongst other things that isn't safe for your skin... maybe this is one of the reasons why we were told to avoid it...

Dying your hair black is not prohibited guys but in special cases Nobody knows or tells those special cases. It's the fact that teachers have hidden many ahadees from us in real scenario or may be they didn't find the point but there are teachers who have explained ahadees in true scenario and explained that many of the things that people told are prohibited are not actually prohibited there is just no sense in prohibiting them and May Allah Forgive them who told us that.

Okay, Captain Jack Swallows. The only reason I can think that someone might “need” to dye hair black is if they have naturally black hair and want to cover gray. If that’s impermissible, a very dark shade of brown would hide the gray and blend in well enough with the black to look good.

Before I started wearing hijab I worked somewhere that did not allow us to have unnatural hair colors and I had very saturated pink hair. I tried to get it out but it wouldn’t come out so I had to dye my hair black, and a lot of the other girls at work said they also dyed their hair black when they got that job. Maybe bc the hair is something that reveals a lot about ourselves in this case I believe it to be more about the gray and white hair (although I may be wrong, I haven’t read that part on the Quran) and from my point of view, it would be the most modest to show one’s personal age, or in some cases stress, etc, like there’s no need to try look younger or as if you’re hair hasn’t change when it actually did. I mean in my perspective is like don’t cover up what you’re body is going through and therefore you’ll get acknowledged and taken care for what’s happening to you * I believe when gray or white hair appears bc of age, it gives you a sign of respect. Also there’s some people who gets it since a really young age or some that are born with strands of white hair bc of partial albinism and from these two reasons I honestly believe they just look great and from the people that I know with this they also like it but there must be someone who doesn’t like that happening to themselves and may want to cover it up and one reason I believe it’s better not to cover up something you’re body is going through is because many other people must or could be going through the same thing and they could have you as someone to look up for that, having someone to identify with in that matter.

It does not matter whether or not it's natural or man made. I'm sure at the time of the prophet, it was a natural black plant-based dye that was being widely used anyway. Soooo, I think the ruling is referring to the color specifically and not what the dye is made of. But I personally wouldn't follow this rule anyway. If I can dye my hair every other color under the rainbow with the most unnatural methods, it really doesn't make sense. I believe the original story says that Muhammad told an old man with grey hair not to dye his hair black because it didn't suit him. As in, that particular man with grey hair shouldn't. And then people over the years have blown it up and said "NO ONE CAN DYE THEIR HAIR BLACK". For all we know Muhammad could have been giving fashion advice rather than making an actual religious ruling. 😆😆😆

Black hair is extremely common and to keep students from dying their hair to blonde, brown, or red they made it mandatory to keep hair black. Actually, Muslims are not allowed to die their hairs black after the hairs become grey because- ageing is something eternal. Muslims needs to accept the truth of temporariness of this duniya. Colouring the hairs black eventually brings huge changes in a person's look and it makes them look attractive and a lot younger than their actual age. And this goes same with nose jobs and teeth braces. You are not permitted to change your natural look. How you were born and how you will look as you age.

Maybe it's because Allah SWT says that every grey hair you get, a sin is wiped away from your book and that's why someone got told "don't dye your hair black". It might not be specifically the black colour but rather the actual dye, trying to "cover up" your age when it's a perfectly natural and blessed stage of life

Logically, I assume this has something to do with purifying yourself for prayer. Permanent hair dye penetrates the hair shaft, and black is the most shampoo resistant of them all. It also easily stains the skin. Similar to the rule with nail polish - water wouldn’t be able to penetrate and cleanse that part of your body. Lighter dyes likely wouldn’t cause the same issue, hence the ruling only for black hair dye.

I don't remember where i got this from , but i think you can't dye your hair black because the jews used dye their hair black for traditaion so we can't dye it black. Like how we aren't allowed to celebrate birthday's because the christians used to do it. I think my school or something told me that.

nope,because it's natural and any colour you were born with is completely permissible as this is the creation of Allah(swt).the only time you can't dye it,is if you dyed it another colour,and want it to become black again.for this youde have to wait for the dye to wear off rather than dye it.in fact,consider this a gift from your creator that your hair is naturally black by birth :')

Hello! According to my knowledge, we aren't allowed to imitate the disbelievers when we do something, ie any country/society where the majority of people and the culture is non-muslim. This includes the west. This means that if we do something cultural that is well-known to be exclusive to non-muslim societies/everyone knows thats where it originated from, and we do it with the intention of imitating them, it's not allowed. It is said that anyone that imitates a disbeliever is one of them. This doesn't mean we can't benefit from their medical advancements or teach their scientific discoveries, it just means that we can't do certain hairstyles or looks or anything in an attempt to be part of them. I'm pretty sure hair colour comes under this. Using my personal interpretation, I think depending on the shade of red it could be okay as there are more natural henna-ish red colours, but electric colours like blue, green or purple, mohawks, certain hairstyles and cuts, split dyes, I'm pretty sure all of those wouldn't be correct to adopt, as they were never part of our culture, and we should strive to be identified as muslims first and foremost. :)
