OK After That Black & White Hose Backlash/Untangle I've A Public Service Announcement! The Aussie's use Reels that they carry to the affected area & hookup to the pump from another reel in the van/truck! While their heavy it appears to keep the hose from getting tangled in the Van & saves time.

So what is needed is an attachment to the end of the hose that has a retractable set of metal 'fingers' (like prongs on a metal rake) that can be activated to open up and grab something so you can pull it out with the hose.

I gather you couldn't just go into the house, take the toilet off and inspect what the blockage was in the first place, since it was right there? Especially once you found out what it was? And if you had a reverse nozzle you could have hooked it and pulled it out. Plus, it's great for root cutting.
