First Step Staffing is the name - it took the video way too long to get here to reveal the name.

Having a job doesn't get a person out of poverty anymore

This is the intended function of growth based capitalism. Unemployment is the _necessary_ means of keeping wages low.

@@worldofdoom995both right. The economy is screwed right now. We also have an individual responsibility to try and make it anyways. The real way to lose is to give up. So don't give up and keep trying even if it's an uphill battle

@@kikijewell2967lol obviously wrong. Capitalism fails if no one can buy your products. It suffocates small businesses and serves to promote the survival of only the largest corps that have their tendrils stuck on many other places. This did not come about as a result of capitalism, this came about as a result of UNREGULATED capitalism, aka massive corps dictating our fate with little to no consequence. They got us hooked on ever low prices due to unethical practices, they changed how to view apps through ATS, publicly traded corps cemented the notion it's all about the bottom line for the sake of stakeholders (even if you have to break the law), they're somehow given rights as an individual, and the list goes on. You really think your local mom and pop shop are responsible for unemployment? 🙄

Do something anything ! Give everyone a chance! Our work places are not like it used to be. You never know until you give them a chance. What a fresh breath of air with this news! People who have clean backgrounds sometimes are pain in the ass to work with, they come in under influence, angry outbursts, unprofessional.

I have a 4 year degree from a private catholic college graduated summa cum laude and I work in a bar. That pays more than most around here. It’s sad.

It's unbelievable that there are so many billionaires and millionaires in the US, and at the same time, half a million unemployed people. Why can't more of them partner with and invest in social enterprises like First Step that are ending homelessness, creating jobs and creating new life opportunities for people?

Only 229 likes?! We can do better than that Americans. Like they said, this could be a pivotal part in easing homelessness…at the very least.
