I also think of the times we bring our plastic products to our shower, and many of us take hot showers every day, so those plastic bottles might be detaching particles to the products. Also, while deep conditioning we put heat on those cheap plastic caps or just use a plastic trash bag, I believe in that process those bags loose a lot of plastic particles that we absorb. Great info 👏🏼. Thank you! ☺️

Im old enough to remember when pop/soda bottles were glass and recycled or perhaps refilled. What a shame we stopped that.

This is really tough. Plastic is in practically everything there was a news item regarding plastic in the atmosphere which we are breathing in. Also lots clothing contains plastic. There's also items we don't even realise contain plastic, shame the news industry don't cover this topic.

I agree - it is hard - but we still deserve to know so we can try to make safer choices when possible and work for change.

Thank you as always!! I try to only buy food that come in jars as much as I can. It’s amazing that so many people do really well with what they eat etc & ignore beauty products. I find 1 small step at a time. Replace items with better options a few at time. It can be so overwhelming but you have to start somewhere!

Thank you for this video. Ever since the deva disaster and following you, I am so passionate about this topic. I can’t believe how much I used to be in the dark on this topic and I can’t believe how many others who are as well. You inspire me to want to do more and get the word out and just do more. I’m so glad you’re using your platform for this!!! This deva experience is the worst thing I’ve been through but also I’m thankful it opened my eyes

Thanks, Stephanie! Much appreciated. I wonder, why do we have deva curl products here (Europe) that come from America? I can’t find anything online 🤷‍♂️

I feel so helpless when I hear information about this. It’s like there’s no escape when we live in a world that forces plastics on us via everything we consume.

You are not helpless if you work to gather as much information as you can so you can make safer choices. The safer choices are there. As I mentioned - for many people they are not attainable because they are less affordable - and that has to change. More companies being forced to move to non-toxic materials for their packaging would create more competition in that industry and therefore decrease prices. Until then, it won't change. First companies have to be forced to choose the option that costs them more.

Do you consider mineral sunscreen safe ? as it does penetrate skin but stays on top of skin (allegedly)? Or is only the mineral staying on skin, and the melted micro plastic itself penetrating? Thanks a lot.

My goodness and to think about fake nails ... press on’s are plastic and what about acrylic nails ...isn’t acrylic basically plastic? I’m not plastic free but will definitely try to improve my lifestyle choices to avoid plastics ☹️

When nails get wet they become soft and any chemicals on your nails from polish or acrylic can definitely absorb into your nail beds and blood stream. I stopped wearing acrylics a few years ago partly for this reason and I don't wear any nail polish either. My nails have never been better!

Does oway products come in unbreakable glass? One of the main reasons I'm afraid to buy products in glass is because I'm a huge clutz. For me wet hands and glass could be not only disastrous but dangerous. There have been plenty of times when my plastic shampoo or conditioner bottles have slipped out of my hands. Wasn't a big deal as they didn't break. If it was glass and broke in the shower that could cause cuts and bloody feet. I get what you are saying but unless the products come in glass that is very thick, strong and won't easily break from being dropped I'm afraid to switch to glass.
