Finally something I really didn't know yet in FM! :D I thought the only way to improve it is giving them game-time. I find having a few model citizen and high professional personalities within your squad help with inconsistent over time. The player has a higher chance of modelling them personalities and get rid of the inconsistency, although this happens a lot for younger players but older players I don’t think it works as much. Inconsistent players are typically younger and grow in consistency over time. I think it's a nice touch by SI as it's realistic that older experienced players are more reliable.
@KOBKStreak3 жыл бұрын
I've picked this up since FM20. I rate a player with "low stats" or "lower rated" that is consistent than someone "better" that isn't because they turn up more and do the job needed. Sometimes the reports won't always show this feedback, and you have to look at their playing (season) stats to find out. Never knew how to improve the consistency and that was great to find out.

As far as I remember (in older FM versions) a player being inconsistent was more a ‘run of games’ rather than match by match. That’s why I used to drop strikers to reserves if they started to dry up. Since Fm 20 I won’t sign anyone who shows up as red or orange for inconsistency.

consistency affects you''re mental attributes, if you have worst inconsistency on it's worst day it will be a point drop in all mental attributes across the board. consistency can't be trained or mentored, it's not a personality, it does slowly increase over age at about a rate of like 5-ish points over ten years maybe slightly more(it's a 1-20 attribute for reference)

@bucksie4383 жыл бұрын
I didn’t really think about this in this way. When signing players, I always look at high determination, work rate, team work being over 48 (combined) then with the scout reports, look at injury susceptibility and consistency. Then look at where players can fit into my tactics, rather than my team. I always look at how the player will fit, (vision for the wingers, inside forwards with high dribbling, centre forward with ability for long shots, flair for my central midfielders, and concentration for the centre back and so on.). I also look on how professional they are as this helps develop younger players as well as keeping their bookings down. I find the more professional the players is, the more consistent he is and less likely to get booked or sent of (trait for bending the rules) and dirtiness. I often have games where my passing rate is about 65% and all players are over 6.8 even when I lose, the ratings are always above 6.8.

I actually consider this as a flaw in the game. Consistency shouldn't equal playing above your level. I found the explanation of it in the video little weird to be honest. A championship level player shouldn't be able to get those rating as in premier league that often since the level of play is above him. I do understand if a player is premier league level and consistency would affect the ratings, and that's great realism but that shouldn't mean a consistent league 2 player can get 7+ ratings on constant bases in premier league
@robertdunhill20773 жыл бұрын
Bamford was inconsistent in the championship. When he got to the prem he is playing like he's always been their.
@madsin65163 жыл бұрын
It's good because this means some really good players, such as Dybala, underperform despite having all the attributes to be a top player. And others, for example Wilson, can put in top performances despite not being that good. It adds variety and rng which is good for the balance of the game
@Josh-pw1gh3 жыл бұрын
@@madsin6516 I do understand RNG part of it for it being a game, but can't deny takes just a little away from realism. I am not expecting them to give me 7.5+ performance every game, but having a player with very high stats scoring hat trick then nothing for 3 matches constantly (not just period of 1 or 2 months at a time due to happiness, fatigue, contract issues - also note that I expect most players would have downs several time a season-) but through out the season combined with weird AI talk/replies can be annoying at times 😅
@Craz383 жыл бұрын
If a player gets less than 6.5in training or a match I criticise him but I do it at the end of match team talk on the individual tab and praise over 7.5. Do you think the team talk one works as well as the out of game one? BTW I didn't do this knowing could help with consistency. I just thought it made them put more effort in training.
@fmscout3 жыл бұрын
Out of game one involves discipline so I would class as separate to in game, don't know that for definite though so maybe test it out next time you have a bad performance. And yes it helps them play better in game which can therefore help improve his consistency mate! - Jake

@@fmscout I don't recall who I heard this from but it's also been suggested that playing regularly along with the discipline is necessary. You can't be consistent playing once a month.
