Hey, Crit Damage actually isn't a great perk because the +10% isn't calculated on the total crit damage, but instead the damage that is added over the normal damage (i.e. if a normal strike does 50 damage and a crit does 100, +10% crit damage would do 105 damage instead of the 110 you might expect otherwise). I haven't tested it with breakpoints so I want to bring this up as some alternatives might be good like +Flak, +Unarmoured, or even +Infested depending on what the chainsword is killing the most often.

Tanner Lindberg blocked me from his channel comments for saying that 'Ghost is underrated as you can reliably proc complete immunity from ranged mobs'. It was relevant as it was a video where he was saying ranged mobs were hyper dangerous in packs. Screeched like a harpy that I "Don't have any solo auric maelstrom videos uploaded of me using it" and that I needed to upload them as evidence before I was allowed to give an opinion, spammed four messages praising himself like a twat while I was still offline, then blocked me. He will actively block any conversations even discussing off-meta ideas or theorycrafting in games, so you can't rely on his concepts being truly put through the fire. He just steals builds and information off the net and makes videos pretending they're his unique insights while trash talking the community. All this for a Single Player+ game too; it's not like you're fighting other people, for the Emperor's sake. Guy is a nutjob.

Personally prefer the MK VI power sword over any other melee weapon, doesn't get stuck with special revs like chain weapons, way better cleave when powered up, and a lot more versatility and movement in melee. That and it's push poke in head, swing 2x combo while powered up insta kills any ogryn, mutant, or rager/mauler you name it outside of a monstrocity. That being said, I run my power sword with the columnus v as well but am a 2x stealth build.

i specifically shooce chainaxe to rend all the enemies, it feels nice to wreck them. dodge gets you unstuck anyway

I tried this build out over my stealth build since I love using the catachan sword and auto gun. Funny enough I have not had to use the krak grenade at all in the build since it handles the elites so well. Unfortunately, I our other two grenade options don't really do much in this build. The stealth build I use mostly for the sniper missions where you got to make it down a death corridor.

Interesting how you didnt pick the earn 1% for killing a specialist aura since i would've assumed that you would as kuch ammo as you can get, especially since this a very dakaka build. Ill definitely give this a try!

Agreed. This build is only useful if there is another vet on the team running ammo regen. Without it this build will eat up all the ammo on the map and teammates will be left with nothing.

I honestly would go for survivalist if I could fit it in. I did try a couple of games using it, and it was a harsh cut. If you wanna go less melee orientated, you can drop Always Prepared and get survuvalist. I personally just loved being able to have best of both worlds of a melee swinger and 'dakaka' build 😋

You can easily do that with a plasma gun build. That's the one nice about the plasma... It opens up so many other possibilities for the vet as a strong melee with more survivability.

That first build is great. Not long into the game & love that Autogun, prefer them to Las. Good explanation of a skill tree & i wasnt aware wrapons perks made so much difference

MkV is a beast because of its weak spot damage, if you make a build stacking weak spot/crit it can clear 20 lined-up gunners/berzerkers in a mag. Which is just fucking ridiculous. Also, MkV-s best friend is the new combat blade with lac4+uncanny4 on the right tree Rambo build.

No reason to not use a powersword with power cycler, its a fantastic choice. Another good choice too, i tried to make this build similar to the swingers veteran build and always prepared was a good option to have more up time on the melee weapons specialist stack. 100% understandable if you drop it for other talents. at the end of the day its whatever suits you 😄

It’s the 50% cooldown increase that ruins the ability. Most Vets understand that VOC is a free get out of near death card. So what happens if said Vet is able to get their cooldown so low, they have a semi-permanent ability that will make them and sometimes their team immortal. It’s been 2 weeks but I hope this answers your question.

Some missions that don't decide to give you much ammo can be rough, but I always try to save a mag or 2 so you can activate (melee) weapons specialist.

Hm, I see why this build is meta. Like and subscribe 👍 However I just love headshoting mobs from distance too much. And for autogun it is an impractical gameplay. If only I could have both frag and krack grenades equipped... Because lasgun makes me weak against hordes and almost useless against maulers. Not a problem when playing with a friend/s who are optimized against these threats (with me wiping out everything else) but sometimes it is a problem with random group.

Uhh…. Why would you pick a High Rate of Fire weapon AND NOT GET THE SUPPRESSION ABILITY AND the perk called “TERRIFYING BARRAGE” which SUPPRESSES ENEMIES WITHIN A 5 METER RADIUS FOR A CLOSE RANGE KILL!!!??? You can stop an ENTIRE HORDE in its tracks with a single kill……😂
