This is why the anime is so bad, if you read/follow the manga, it was quite a mystery till the reveal as to what happened to ken, was he killed and his kakuho implanted into haise that being why Ken appears to haise like rize did to Ken. Or if haise is actually Ken and just lost his memory due to the eye poke.... It's just another case of bad adaptation. This had so much potential...

Ok so to sum it up: Kaneki has lost his memory due to brain damage from the last fight in season 2, CCG exploits this to recruit him as an investigator with a new identity and with the progression of the story he slowly discovers who he truly is. In other words we are supposed to be confused at first and then clarified as we watch the show further, so as to put us, the audience, in the same position as Kaneki (character relatability). Hopefully this makes you more willing to continue watching the show.

Basically season 1 is fine Season 2 took continuity and threw it out the fucking window. (More below) 3 is complete garbage 4 is garbage The only part or season 2 that matched the manga perfectly was the fight with Amon. Kaneki still fights Shinohara (armor dude) but the events leading to it, events coming after it, and the location are entirely different. Also Juuzou fighting the twins suffers the same issues as the Shinohara fight. Basically if you like how badass shironeki (white haired Kaneki) is in √A, you will love shironeki in the manga, he has much more badass feats in the manga. Start at chapter 64, that's where the fight with Jason starts

D1 _Commentator season 2 was always off because I couldn’t stop asking myself why Kaneki joined Aogiri Tree. But I stopped asking why after a while. Within just the anime best I could rationalize was it having something to do with when he took a bite out of Jason. And RE just felt rushed, I wish they took a lot more time fleshing out the characters and the conflict. The fights could have been better, too. All of that aside, I still love Kaneki and Touka, and it was for them I kept watching. I’m about to get the mangas and I’m excited. This Saturday the box collection I ordered comes in, or should. And there’s a box collection of re coming out later this year, in fall, and I’m definitely picking that up too. Truth be, this will be my first manga I’ve ever read. I know it’s free online, but I prefer print when I’m reading.

The Great O Davis I was confused at first because I didn’t watch Tokyo ghoul since the end of season 2 and it took me like a full episode or two to fully get it. Like I was just confused as to why the guy I thought was the main character was now working for the ccg and it didn’t make sense to me either exactly what happened. I didn’t know if it was like some amnesia stuff or if I just missed or forgot some huge piece of the plot. S1 S2 S3 S4 are all connected in Anime. S1 he becomes ghoul and at the end his hair turns white S2 he joins Aogiri tree and at the end he "dies" S3 he doesnt die but he gets tortured and brain washee until CCG adapts him as Haise the investigator, at the end he remembers who he was (Kaneki) S4 He wants to unite humans and ghouls, gets married, gets a kid, happy ending. If anyone is confused while watching, just watch the whole show all 4 seasons and you will connect it. They litteraly have scenes where they explain stuff. The thing with anime and manga not being connected is usually when manga isn't made yet and Anime wants to keep production. You can see that in filler episodes and stuff that gets made for anime that is not storyline. In TokyoGhoul I'm not sure why anime and manga aren't connected, but after I watched first 4 seasons I though Kaneki was dead, after watching 3 season I realised what happened to him, and after I watched 4th season I was satisfied. I never readed the manga cuz the anime itself with this story is pretty good and satisfying. For those who say that tokyo ghoul is shit because it's not like manga, please go read Game of Thrones and then watch it. Shit happens

DanGamingHD They aren’t ghouls. They are humans with a high RC level. The anime didn’t explain RC Cells so I will. Every human and ghoul has an RC level. If you are 400 and under you are a human. If you have a 401-999 then you are what the new characters are. They are called Quinxs and they have ghoul powers but are still humans. If you have 1000 or higher then you are officially a ghoul. They made kaneki an investigator because the CCG saw potential in him

Yeah that was a really dramatic and well done death scene. By the way, right after Kaneki places Hide on the floor and is confronted by Arima, do they actually fight in the anime? I watched it on Netflix and it seemed to just randomly cut to the outro without either of them saying anything or fighting.
