Coldplay rarely allows other celebs to cover their songs, they even declined an offer worth $50000. But they readily gave permission to BTS, and even congratulated in korean?? Now that's huge. They're not even an english band, yet they sang it so beautifully, way more beautiful than any cover. Because of their cover, now it's one of their famous and most streamed songs. This shows how much BTS is respected by other artists in the music industry

Just wanted to add a correction that coldplay does allow covers. They just don't allow usage of the song in ads/movies that they feel go against the meaning of the song because their art is very important to them and they don't want to sell out. Also the song was a mega hit even before bts covered it haha. But yes bts covering it did cause a spike in the chart cause it's such an old song

This song came out nine years ago. Chris Martin originally wrote the song for his then wife Gwyneth Paltrow. He wrote "Fix You" in order to comfort Gwyneth after her father died in 2002. The lyrics in the song are about how she felt after her dad died. BTS didn't make it famous. It's already famous. Don't insult the original artist. The reason they don't allow it in ads and movies because it's the most important song they've ever written. They don't want people to butcher it.

This is absolutely mesmerizing. I'm an RM bias, so when he started harmonizing with Jin (my wrecker) I was so stunned I think I stopped breathing. And he didn't stop there, he did this with all 4 of them. Then Suga & V, J-Hope & JImin. OMG!!!!!! The vocal line was amazing as usual, but the rap line, I did not see that coming. We all knew J-Hope could sing, but RM and Suga really impressed me. This was just magical. Side note -Jin's vocals were amazing. He deserves so much more praise.

Telepathy: for the distance, Blue & Grey: for the sadness, Fix You: to reconfort us, Life Goes On: to keep going and Dynamite: to cheer us up. That show WAS EPIC in every performance. I’ve never been a huge Coldplay fan myself, but “Fix You” is definitely one that I always loved from them. And at the time that it was popular, that song held a very deep meaning for me. Now with BTS’s cover, it holds a completely different meaning for me and makes me love and respect them even more than I already did, and I already had such a deep love and respect for them. This performance touched me in a way I was not expecting at all and every single time I listen to it I break down crying but I can’t stop listening because I love it so much.

I literally have the lyrics tattooed on me. And I plan on getting Mikrocosmos tatted on the same arm, as well. Because I Adore space......and both songs are so pretty. The concert version of ASFoS is SO much fun!!!! So much jumping and shouting the lyrics as loud as you can. I live in Wichita so I went to Tulsa in 2016 and KCMO in 2017 and had a blast both times. I really hope they tour again as I wanna go to more haha. And I have yet to go to a BTS concert.....but maybe someday. ㅠ.ㅠ

This is what allows “older peeps,” the ability to live them. They are true artists and healers with their music. Being a “little” bit cynical, the first time I read Big Hit’s “tag line,” I was like..”yeah..right 🙄.” Another corporation, trying to pass off a “manufactured boy band,” as “artists.” I have been eating crow ever since. This showcases why, vocally, they are unique in all the world - the range of colors, tones and emotions they can convey is so special and transcendant! From Jimin's angelic pitch and otherworldly vibrato, to RM's stable, deep, calming harmony... ughh each of their voices and vocal presences are so special and unique on their own. Such brilliant choices and combinations! And when Tae finishes in his full, deep, warm-as-a-hug range, it's enough to send your spirit straight out of your body. I think Coldplay is probably glad they let BTS cover their classic, don't you?

When I heard them sing this I started to cry. This song was something I used to sing when I first got diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I felt so broken because I felt crazy and like no one understood me. When I found BTS in 2018 my life instantly got better. They made me laugh, something I rarely did. They made me want to be a better person, learn about Korean culture, and they helped me stay alive. So I was really grateful to them for singing this song.
