I saw this when it dropped, but my house is a place of noise and chaos... This is my first opportunity to watch it and I've been eagerly waiting all day!

Heck yeah man! I appreciate you being a part of this.

Another good tip wad up alittle of sticky tape to put into your sockets & nut drivers to help nuts or small bolts to get them started it aids dropping them into oblivion lol when done you can pull out the tape with a nail or needle nose pliers. Helps to avoid a lot of swearing. Lol Clear packing tape works best for me. YMMV.
@freemansgarage4 ай бұрын
That is a very useful tip. I've used some variations of that before. Thank you for sharing that.

Put some duct tape around the top half of your utility knife blade to give you something to hang onto. 3 or 4 wraps will do helps to prevent slips & cuts.

That's amazing. I really appreciate you sharing that with everyone.

I feel like Charlie Brown when Lucy pulls the football away as he goes to kick it. I get sucked in to these videos waiting to see you drive the Rambler, then it doesn’t happen.

Me too. The good news is I've got it sorted out behind the scenes already.

I just sent something to your PO Box from Amazon that could help with this problem and probably others. It is a 2" shrinkable tubing; I am not sure what size you need, and I hope this is big enough. You are the best!!

Thank you so much for that. That's something very nice you didn't have to do.

Bobby from NJ. Even if the center had two different sizes, you can still make it workable.

I had a thought. It wouldn’t be stock, but a vacuum accumulator would probably be helpful in getting those vacuum wipers to work. The benefit being that you would have a few moments of wipers after shutting the engine off, and that performance wouldn’t suffer based on throttle position
@freemansgarage4 ай бұрын
We might have to experiment with something similar to that at some point. We did rebuild the dual action pump on Freeman's Garage. We need a new line from the pump to the wipers to be able to test it out.

Bobby from NJ. If needed on the center pipe on one end wrap the rubber piece around the pipe and use adhesive. That will fill in the gap for the little bit of difference. If it has cured it won't leak.
@freemansgarage4 ай бұрын
That's a good idea. Thank you.

The generator light will come on if the speed for idling is low, not a concern, it should go out when speed goes up. Keep the faith, you will succeed in getting it going down the road.
@freemansgarage4 ай бұрын
For some reason I didn't say that on camera. I am curious what the generator is putting out though. I appreciate the nice comment.

Bobby from NJ. Hey Brother, do you know that you could have got two new hoses. One to fix the tank and one to fit the filler neck pipe, and had a metal pipe in between. If you are piecing it in the center the hose ends should be the same size. Then just clamp it up. Wish I was there, I would help you. Great job on the videos.

I understand. I spent a little bit of money & a whole lot of time cutting bending & shaping different materials behind the scenes. I ended up running out of time.

Check the quality of the rubber pad held with zip tie because if radiator hose grade rubber will disintegrate after exposure to petroleum products over time, after this repair is forgotten about. Gates rubber on Amazon has gasoline grade rubber hoses but limited to 1 1/2" diameter so pickens are slim. Curious if plumbing supply rubber sleeves they stock for kitchen sink drains in that fuel filler neck diameter have petroleum grade rating. PVC pipe joints from Home Depot or plumbing supply would be too rigid alone without modification. Might be possible to take multitool and cut 1 - 2 inch cuts down end of neck several times so it could be squashed to smaller diameter and pushed into fuel tank neck, then use 4 hose clamps around wrapped rubber pad to seal. Cummins diesel parts shop might have a rubber hose rated for fuel. Using Wax paper and a large tube of RTV sealer, could make a filler neck in 48 hours. Call Rube Goldberg if all else fails.
@freemansgarage4 ай бұрын
Do we share the same brain? I've thought of pretty much most of that minus the wax paper. I appreciate the ideas. We're locked in with what we got now so we'll roll with it. Behind the scenes I've got the master cylinder etc issues fixed. I'm sure Rube would be able to come up with something very creative. I wonder what he would think of.

AMC Acres in Colorado. I have no affiliation with them. I might not ever get one. Not their fault. They're at the mercy of whoever is molding these things.
